Rtek?

i see several members talking about Rtek , and i saw in an earlier thred that its one of the first things you should do, and pardon my newbie-ness, but what is it, how does it work, and where do i get it?

dont get me wrong, i understand engine managment and all, and its my understanding that Rtek is some sort of engine managment. but is it plug and play? tuneable? im just not familiar with this particular programming.

im in a similar position to the author of the previously mentioned thread in the sense that i wanna keep it reliable, but decently quick. and i still have to pass emissions as well.

any info is greatly appreciated, as always.

First here is the link to the rtek site with most of the info you will need.

Rtek is a plug and play type of engine managment and they have versions 1.5, 1.7 and 2.0. All just depends on what your plans are.

You send in your stock ECU and they rechip it and program it to control for larger sec. injectors, timing etc...

If you go with the 2.0 it actually allows you to adjust multiple setting with the use of a PDA.

If you go witht he 1.7 and 2.0 you will have to have 720's in the secondaries.

You don't need 720's with the 2.0, it will do 550x4. Just 720 or larger secondaries on the 1.7.
