Rtek 2.1 update for S4 TII - It's here

Yeah, it's been way too long, but it is finally here.
Rtek Stage 2.1 (Stage 2, firmware ver 1.1.2)

* increase fuel adjustment to +/-37.5%
* add EGR as programmable RPM based switch output
* add Variable Resistor as general input
* expand Fuel Table to 14x14 (down to 0 rpm, down to -13psi)
* add control of the startup fuel curve
* Software ISC and Variable Resistor
* MAP based timing mode (converts timing table from LOAD vs RPM to PSI vs RPM)
* Secondary Transition Stumble Elimination

There is new PocketLOGGER software to go with it as well. (See next post)

Software

Please make sure you completely delete the old version off your PDA before installing the new version by following the instructions below. Not doing so creates all kinds of problems.

Proper delete procedure:
Delete the Rx7 Logger off your Palm using Menu->delete from the app launcher screen.
Hotsync.
Double click the PRC file attached to open the install tool.
Hotsync.

This procedure deletes all your old logs and your maps. Please note that due to the map change size, your old maps will not work with the new stage 2.1.

This software is for anyone running any of our stage 2 updates. It supports all Rtek Stage 2 products.

Latest software is always available at

With the change from load based to map based for the timing table, has the stock ignition table been converted or do we need to make our own table before starting the car now?

turbo2ltr 01-24-08 03:04 PM

The stock tables are NOT good for running the car in MAP mode. Yes, you need to map it yourself.

Sandbagger 01-24-08 03:43 PM

Is it possible to select between load based or map based, for the timing table? Or has the factory load based map been completed deleted from the ecu?

Ater watching the pocket logger video, it appears that there is an option to select boost based timing under the general tab. Would this be used to choose between load based and map based?

turbo2ltr 01-24-08 03:45 PM

Yes, it's selectable. The ECU is still just like stock when you get it from us.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'll be ordering mine soon.

Simple minded question: So I could install the new chip and later if I didn't like it for some unknown reason, I could remove it and put the original RTEK chip back in with the original software.

I realize I would need to remove the old software and install the new prior to the new chip and if the old was ever put back in, I'd have only the software for that chip on the computer.

It's like this. I've a couple of RTEK's and I'm thinking of ways around the software on the computer if I only order one chip. Well, I've two computers so I guess I could have one dedicated to one version and the other computer for the other. Not desireable.

Yes you could swap back to the 2.0.

The newest PocketLOGGER is always backwards compatible with older ECU versions. It works with 2.0 and 2.1.

Oppps. ******It supports all Rtek Stage 2 products*****

I guess you mean what you write. Missed that on my first read. Thank you.
