hmmm, thats what i was doing but my car is really having a hesitation problem and im trying to
eliminate limp mode as a possibility, and its just a concern because other people have said they deleted their OMP and they do NOT have the CEL 20

If it was in limp mode, you would know it.

Whether the code is there or not is really by chance. I think I recently discussed this so you might want to look back a few threads.. Limp mode without an Rtek is typically caused by a damaged OMP driver in the ECU. Depending on how the thing blows, it can cause some weird stuff in regards to how the ECU senses codes.

ya ive had limp mode before but it was always while driving..

now im working on a new engine, and the car isn't quite drivable fully, and im new to the rtek which is why i was looking for clarity on the CEL 20 thing.

what are the symptoms of limp mode while in neutral?

Code 20 is for the MOP position sensor, assuming you have an S5; not sure what code 20 is on an S4. You won't notice limp mode in neutral - revving the engine in neutral will seem perfectly normal, since it's not under any real load.

When in limp mode when driving in gear, the engine will buck/hesitate very noticeably if it's under load and you try to accelerate with normal throttle. If you feather-foot it, you might be able to SLOWLY accelerate without it bucking.
