I have just completed my RTEK 1.7 install and thought I would share some of the things I would recommend when removing the Throttle body to upgrade to the 720 secondary injectors:

1. Know if you have High Impedance or Low impedance Injectors. Kevin Landers has an excellent write-up on this

You may need to buy resitors and do some soldering into your wiring harness if your 720's do not match the impedance of your stock system.

2. Buy new injector clips to replace the old cracked ones. This is easy to solder in and will ensure you have a good plug connection to your new injectors. Here is a place that you can get them.

3. Since you need to remove the Throttle body buy the fuel pulsation damper and replace it (it is on the primary fuel rail). Mine was near failure and this is known to cause engine fires when it occurs.

4. I replaced as many of my old hard vacuum lines as possible with silicone lines from Hose Techniques. Some of the old ones are hard and cracked. After my install my idle improved because of this replacement.

5. Know that the coolant hose under the TB will be a bugger to get out and to put back in. I kept mine stock put added a screw clamp to ease getting at it next time. Here is a tech teardown guide I found. Here they replaced the stock coolant hose with a fuel line and coiled it as shown. Do no try to run a straight collant / fuel line and bend it as per stock. I tried this, the hose kinked and I blew coolant all over when i started my car. Removing the TB a seconds time was much easier...lol.

Other things you may want to consider depending on condition of your car and budget:
- New gasket for the TB manifold.

Hope this helps someone considering this upgrade. I enjoyed all of it except the leaky coolant line experience!

Those injector clips you linked to...is that the same for s4 and s5?

No, those clips are for an S5 injector. I had to shave the little offset nib on the injector so it would fit the plug (common practice when doing this clip / injector upgrade).
