Redom to Rteck
So I was planning om getting the 2.1 to run my fc but when I went to pull the ecu I found out that it has a redom chip alrrady installed that the previous owner did not tell me about. I still what the rteck because I have ni way of knowing what redom version I have. Is the chip in he same location so that I can just swap them out or do I need to buy another stock t2 ecu and send it out?
Anyhelp is appreciated |
It should work, but it's more likely that the board will be damaged when we try to install the stage 2. The PC boards in the ECUs don't like multiple unsolderings, but we've done it before.

^ I'm curious... have you peeked into the Redom or Knightsports chips and gotten an idea of what they do?
How does a Redom or Knightsports compare to say an Rtek 1.5 ? |
I think we've looked at some Knightsport chips but nothing in depth.

So id be better off if I where to send you a stock ecu and sell off the redom?
|
There's less chance for a problem. Just make sure the one you send comes out of a working car. We get ECUs that people buy and send directly to us without testing them and then they find out there is something wrong with it and have to pay to have the rtek swapped into a different ECU.

Alrighty thanks for the help!
