Dyno logged peak boost at 18psi. Revved to 7000 on all the runs

Rtek Log from the run (time is a little off from the dyno)
https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1264613015

Mods
Streetported S4 T2
Secondary throttle butterflys removed
Rtek 2.1 in MAP based timing mode
All emissions removed (no solenoid rack, just the pcv)
700/1000 injectors
BNR Stage 2 Turbo w/ Lowes manual boost controller
Twin scroll removed and plugged
Racing Beat REV TII 3in exhaust
Ebay FMIC 29x9x3
Koyo Rad
Corksport SS oil cooler lines

Attached is a pdb from the dyno log. The times don't match the dyno computer's time. But the runfile number matches that number for the log.

Things I've noticed
The AFM on this car maxes at 880. I've never logged more than that. It seems to be a function of the opening angle and then revs and boost.
Max reading on the boost is 15.8. The top fuel row is 14psi and the top timing row is 16psi.

If you have any other questions just leave them and I'll answer back as soon as I can

Injector D/Cs topped about 83/85%

What are your parameters for analog input 2 (WB)? It's strange to me that you're making peak boost and peak torque at ~4700 RPM. Is the stage 2 really that laggy? The stock turbo makes peak boost/torque way down low at about 3300 RPM.

solareon 01-28-10 06:30 PM

No twin scroll and it also has a fmic with some crazy long pipes. Plus stock boost is only 5.5psi. It doesn't feel that laggy on the street. It pretty much flys through 3rd and 4th. No traction in 1st or 2nd with the wheels and tires I have now.
I really do think the AFM is the limiting factor since the hp seems to just taper off when the boost falls down. When I get some more funds I am gonna invest in a different boost controller to see what that does.

Analog 2 is the default innovate settings. 0V and 5V for an AFR of 7.35 to 22.39.

Sandbagger 01-28-10 06:52 PM

Nice numbers!!! Your the 2nd person I know to be over 300 with the 2.0.

I hope to be there soon, after I get my 1200s' and a custom v mount made. Then I will turn up the boost to 16psi, hopefully I can get between 325 - 350.

Nick_d_TII 01-28-10 09:20 PM

13.4 afr's at 15 psi that seems a little lean but you and Sandbagger are running 13.0 afrs with no probs... Huh. Maybe I should lean mine out a bit, I was shooting for 11's but hell maybe I should be shooting for 12's.

Good job tho! Bet that's a freaking blast to drive!

Sandbagger 01-28-10 09:57 PM

Nick:

Not sure where you are seeing 13's on solareon's log. The highest spike I see is 12.5, but it comes back down quickly.

Maybe you have your sensor scaling different than mine?

On my log that I posted in the other thread, my high is 12.7 at 3.2k. However, my data log reads high, compared to my actual gauge; about 0.5 of a point.

I have confirmed this because in my logs have no readings in the mid 10's, which I see on my gauge when driving and during my pulls for logging.

I am personally shooting for 11.75 to 12.0. On a dyno that would probably be around 12.25. I am also running less timing to balance out the leaner afrs.

I think most people shoot for 11-11.5. According to 2 books on engine management I have they state 11.8 - 13.0 will produce peak power; depending on your setup.

The books also state 12.2 being the best power ratio for Gas and that flame speed is fastest approaching 11.0. So I decided to pick a range between the two.

Nick:
Yeah it's a trip. I don't have the wheels/tires to keep it planted in first or second so I can only play on the freeway. Any ideas on what I should do in terms of tire/wheel size. You set your sensor scaling like I posted above correct?

Nick_d_TII 01-29-10 11:49 AM

Both right, duh, scaling was setup wrong.

Sandbagger 01-30-10 12:49 AM

I did the same thing the first time I connected my WB to the RTek. LOL. On the innovate website I found a scaling that said 0=10 and 5=20; and my numbers were completely off for a week or 2. Then I went throught the manual again and found the 0=7.35 and 5-22.39.

my numbers are still a little off from the innovate gauge, but I think its because of a ground/voltage offset. My wideband is grounded to the ecu case right now, figured it was the closest to the esu ground...

boostedfc3s 01-30-10 04:26 PM

I was able get a peak HP of 350 with my 2.1 Was a couple of years ago now. I have a dyno sheet of a 339 HP pull from the same day on the dyno if anybody wants to see it. That was back when I was running my T4 turbo.

Sandbagger 01-31-10 01:59 PM

Solareon:

Are you just driving on the street? or are you autocrossing, track days or drifting? I'm thinking about running 255s out back and maybe even in the front, if I can fit it with some fenders. On the car, I autocross we are using 275s in the back.

Boosted:

Definitely post up that Dynochart! would love to see it. what was your setup back then?

boostedfc3s 01-31-10 03:33 PM

This setup was.....Atkins stage 2 street port w/3mm seals, TO4B turbo, FMIC, single 255 pump, 720/1000 injectors, @ 16 P.S.I.

Mostly just street. I don't really have the suspension setup for anything else. I use my gxl for autox which will have some sticky 225s on them.

In case anybody looks at this thread in the future here is a screen cap of the fuel/timing tables in the rtek. I have since sold this car but it's still local to me and running good

paganizondadude 04-04-10 08:17 PM

This is the exact number and exact setup i want to run.

66 impala 04-10-10 09:18 PM

does the rtek lean out with boost over 14.7psi? i just dyno'd my rx7 the other day and on 15.8 psi only revving to 6500 i made 339whp 282wtq. i only revved to 6500 because after about 5500 it wentto low 13's afr. A quick lists of mods is rtek 2.1, racing beat turbo back, bnr stage 3, and a godspeed fmic. im thinkin it maybe losing fuel psi up top but im not sure.

lastphaseofthis 06-13-10 11:11 AM

how do you take those screen shots of the full map, i have figured that one out yet... lol

dennis blackstone 06-16-10 06:51 PM

i have almost the same set up ...i have 700/1000 cc injectors whats the best way to set it up on the rtec 2.1 ...will there be a stumble

I feel the 720X720 Injector setting will be your best bet.

I am running 680X1000 on 720X720 and it is running great, I don't notice any stumble... Although, I really need to turn up the boost(to get closer or above 300hp) but I need tires first and the weather's gotta get better too!

Good job boostedfc3s!

misterstyx69 04-22-11 03:02 PM

Solareon.
I am about to load these maps into my Rtek,as I have pretty well the same mods.BUT only have 750X4 in right now.
Can I run the maps with the 750X4 OR should I change out to the 1000 cc secondaries.(Which I have in my hand)??

solareon 04-24-11 07:34 PM

You will need the 1000cc injectors otherwise it will run lean up top.

RotaryRocket88 04-25-11 07:41 PM

I'm curious about the middle of your fuel map. It would seem that you'd have to pull up to 19% (3440 cc total injector / 2880 cc preset) of the fuel in the area above your secondary transition (3072 RPM), but around 0 manifold pressure. Did it run smoothly there even with the large secondaries? It would seem like that would cause a rich stumble at low throttle.

misterstyx69 04-26-11 09:00 AM

why does your map got "negative numbers"(map side).... when the rtek goes has all positive number on it's map side?

The older version of the software I sent didn't fix this?

bikeboy23332 04-26-11 12:18 PM

is solreon's map using the 550/720 injector presets ? i was running on the 550/550 map with my 720/1000cc injectors runing in the 10 afrs. but i corrected it to the 550/720 presets and it is runing in the 11afrs in boost. i want to make sure i have enough fuel and was thinking of plugging in your fuel map.
