Palm TX and RTek 2.0

I have both of those, and I purchased a Serilio (http://www.serialio.com/products/cab...ulti_RS232.php) cable to connect to the RTek since DTI seems to be consistently sold out of theirs. It should work shouldn't it? Am I missing something about how I have to setup the TX to connect to the ECU? Do I need to alter the connection speed, the transfer rate, etc?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm half tempted to go down to Radio Shack and try to pick up either a BT dongle and or a USB/Serial adapter.

Got it working. Needed to turn the car on first while the PDA was not connected to the ecu. Start the program and then connect the TX to the connector. It now works like a friggin' champ.

New problem (i'm still looking into it a little bit): I can't seem to log anything other than RPM. Ideas?

What kind of sample rate are you getting when connected?

On the ECU setup screen, what does it say across the very top?

What version of the software are you using? (Menu -> about from the main screen)

I was getting roughly around 42/64 s/sec (min/max)
I'm using version 2.1.0 build 4 think that's the most recent as I was emailed the program last week.

I think the RTek is just playing games with me now. It's working. i'm now able to log multiple things at once at a sample of 102/104 s/sec

Note that the sample rate will vary greatly depending on how many parameters you are logging. It ranges between 50 and 140 (give or take) The less number of parameters you log the slower the sample rate.

Oh, okay. That's probably why the sample rate is significantly higher now that I can log multiple things.

Of consequence does the O2 sensor error only show up during car operation or will it show up during the normal "On" situation?

out of curiousity, which cable did you purchase?

*edit* to better specify, which one from the site?

I bought this one:
https://serialio.com//store/product_...107307a30d2ca0
But any of their palm multi-connectors should work just fine. They even have one that has a power adapter so you can charge it while in use (i wish I picked that up but I didn't--not really needed unless your going to be doing alot of tuning/logging for extended periods of time).
