Fuel issue please help rteck 2.0

hey guys i need help with my build. here is the specs 90 gxl s5 t2 engine, n370 rteck 2.0, 550/720 injectors fd pump. here is the issue the car will not fire up until i spray carb cleaner on the intake. then it fires up, runs and drives fine but if i shut it off it will not fire up again until i spray the intake with starting fluid again. i get 40 ish at the pump. what is the correct fuel pressure?. My rx7 manual says for turbo the pump hold pressure is 57 is this correct ? i tried fd pump and t2 pump both get 40 psi. could both pumps be bad. im getting about 11.8 volts at the pump side connectors while priming. same voltage as the battery.could it be low voltage to the pump should i rewire with a relay? when i switch the ignition off after priming the pressure increases to like 50 ish for like a second or two then it shut off. im really lost on this issue. i really appreciate any help or advise in advance thanks you guys.

And the tps is not set to 100 wide open

low pressure wont keep it from starting, if you had 20 psi, it might run funny, but it wont keep it form starting.. i would look at your AFM.. it turns on the fuel injectors when starting.. the problem as it seems is the injectors arent firing.. and the ecu needs to see airflow before it will fire them( during starting )

try taking the filter off and putting a screw driver inside to hold it partially open, see if it starts like that. then report back. also look thru the FSM at the afm tests, read carefully and it will explain it all out.

The afm on the rteck show 1 to 2 bars i dont know if is enough air I'll try to push it in more by hand and also the tips was set to 100 wide open then I brought it down to like 4 to 15 ish and still would not start what should the tos should be set to it in the rteck eyes ?

And also I swap two afm one n350 and n370 no difference

Cars don't respond well to random changes. That makes debugging almost impossible. I dont think anyone understands what setting the TPS to 100, then 4, then 15ish means. I suggest posting screenshots of your data logs if you really want any actionable help.

TPS being accurately set is everything so first search the forum for instructions for accurately setting it.

Once your TPS is set correctly, IIRC you can read the AFM values using your RTEK. Have someone slowly and smoothly move the AFM flapper thru its range to make sure the values change without breaks, drops or jumps.

The reason Last suggested the screwdriver in the AFM (which from your posts it isnt clear if you followed his advice or just made random changes to the TPS) is that the fuel pump won't come on unless the AFM tells the ECU that air is flowing into the engine. That way if you crash and the engine is on fire, the fuel pump stops pumping fuel. So if the AFM isn't sending a valid signal to the ECU, you'll have the symptoms you are seeing.

If you search "won't start" you'll find another quick test is to jump the fuel pump test connector which will force the fuel pump to run. If the car starts without ether you'll have a good indicator that the AFM signal isnt getting to the ECU.

Good luck.

Thank you for the reply I had follow the advise. What I meant with 100 percent open and the 15 ish was the tps read out on the rteck as how much the rteck was seen the tps open. But now I ping point the issue down to a bad tps or something to do with the tps adjustment. When I unplug the tps connector the car fires up right away. If I plug in back in it won't start again. So I'm not a master mechanic but not a dummy nether I researched a bit before posting my question having done some of the test prior already. I'll post pics of the log while cranking. Hopefully you guys can help out thanks.

Car stars without tps plug in but when you plug in back it won't start. Bad tps ?

you have a RTek 2.0, plug in a palm(or laptop if you have it working) and see what the tps is currently set to.
