Bluetooth-serial solution

For Anyone that uses a rtek 2.0 , I have found a bluetooth adapter that works with some effort. I'm assuming you already know how to setup the android part.

You will have to buy a serial-usb cable to change the braud rate settings on the adapter. The device company has software for this.
There is a small button on the bluetooth chip so you will have to disassemble the case. Push the button before connecting with the pc software takes some trial.

Change the braud rate to 19,200 8N1 so it will communicate with the ecu. At this point you can also name the device.
The device is powered by 5v and comes with a usb cable.
I just bought a 12v to usb convertor to power it.
Hope this helps some people. I wasted some money on trial and error, ultimately I'm thankful for the owner of rtek even though no longer in business helped me out solving the problem.

Your amazon link doesn't work. Can you put up some pictures of the set-up?

That's a good picture thanks...Can't get that link to work as it keeps re-directing me to amazon.ca which doesn't have it . Is that the " DSD Tech SH-B35 adaptor on amazon U.S.?

DSD TECH SH-B23A Bluetooth 2.0 to RS232 Serial Adapter with DB9 Converter

Was this particular one because it supports the standard SPP (Serial Port Profile).

Would you happen to know if the serial port on the RTEK 2.0 has the 5V pin energized? Because there is a simple mod you can do to that bluetooth unit(picture on the amazon.com review section posted) to power the unit without having to use the pictured converter to convert 12V to 5V and associated wiring.

Hoping for help

Hey guys. I got my palm to hot sync.
i got the dsd b23a to connect to my palm ,
I got pocket logger rx7 installed on my palm,
I downloaded the software on dsd website and got the tool open.
I opened the b23a and connected to my pc with a db9 to usb adapter,
I pushed the button on the b23a chip, the tool recognized the b23a as COM3
so I put the rate next to that at the 19200 baud that was said on this thread, and changed the baud rate and name and password and restarted the module by disconnecting power.
clicked the close button at the top of the tool.
and when I tried to reconnect the palm to the b23a the name an password Didn’t change, I’m assuming that the baud rate didn’t change as well.
I need some help. I have never done anything like this before.

perhaps it was that I changed the baud rate at the top of the tool instead of in the AT first?
any ideas or insight would be helpful, Ill try again tomorrow after work and add pics if needed.
Thanks- Troy

Are you using the bluetooth version of the PocketLogger software?
Does your palm have Bluetooth? (Just checking..)

Not only was it me entering the baud rate wrong beforehand, but it was also that I had it on HCO5 instead of HC 06

yes sir both , I didn’t get this notification before responding to my message saying what I did wrong,
however when we spoke on email last year I said I had a 2.1 when in actuality it’s a 2.0, having trouble finding the page or link on your site showing the difference from v 2.0 and 2.1

turbo2ltr Mar 23, 2026 11:55 PM

I searched around and I see there is a missing link on the website that I can't find the page it went to (5 years ago I converted the dynamic site to static pages and that page seems to have gotten lost)

What I can say is I believe 2.1 added the features that are marked "new" on this page.
