2.0 plus LC-1 WBO2, where to mount?
My wide band just came in and was wondering where everyone has mounted their sensor? Also is anyone using using innovate's bung extended to reduce the temps seen by the sensor?
I have heard that it should be at least 6 inches from the turbo with temps below 1300 degress for better accuracy. I still have the stock downpipe with cat, so I mounted it in the stock location with the extension from innovate. Will this be okay? |
i have racing beat turbo back, i mounted it in the presilencer just after the front flange. the further back you go the longer the sensor will last due to cooler temps. ive been using the same sensor for almost two years now with no problems
edit: i just noticed you still had stock cats.. in that case the stock location is best, since after the cats will affect readings |
Sensor manucaturers typically suggest 24" from the head.

I got CA smog coming up in a few months, so I'm trying to get everything dialed in. Once smog is done, a full 3" turbo back will be going on along with some other goodies; since I will be good for 2 years.
I heard the same thing about the sensors lasting longer because of the lower temps and also being more accurate. Once I get it dialed I will put back the stock O2, until I change the exhaust, so I don't kill the sensor. |

Go ahead and use the stock location for now, remember to plumb the nb output (if you have it) into the rtec. When you do the turbo back, have it mounted about halfway down the downpipe. Should last at least 2 years, my quess is much more. |
