standing mile

I know this is the drag part of the forum but I had a question and I was sure you speed freaks could point in the right place. My question is what does it take for a rotary to beat a Bugatti Veyron in 1000m race? fd or fc chassis I think trying in a fb might be asking to much =P

2009 Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 0-60 mph 2.4 Quarter mile 10.1
2011 Veyron 16.4 Super Sport 0-60 mph 2.4 Quarter Mile 9.6

I know we can beat it in a drag race but i couldnt find anything on something longer

thanks for any feedback guys

oh I forgot to add... Do you think a 13b can make the power to beat it or would you have to go 20b or 26b????

Gearing would be ur biggest issue. 13b can make the power though and would go fc or FD

I couldn't find the exact standing mile for the Bugatti 16.4 SS, but judging from its 0-186mph in 14.6 seconds, and a standing mile time in 23.6sec, I think it would be fair to assume the SS can tack on another 14mph in another 9 seconds. So your looking at a 200mph RX-7 in the standing mile. And judging by the local cars in TX that run 200mph at the Texas Mile (800,900,and 1000 hp vettes, lambos, and vipers), your going to need enough power (550/600ish) to trap around 145ish in the quartermile to get near 200mph in the mile.

Edit: Forgot to mention that one day when I finally get my drag car off its ass, and rebuild it, I'm also going to run my car at the Texas Mile...I might have to add ballast to hold my tin can down (2k lb goal drag weight)...but hopefully I will have the power to run a good speed. We shall see, but dont hold your breath.

thanks I know its gonna take a whole new tranny to get 200 but wasnt sure about how much power it would take lol 600 would be fun but i think as a street car might be to much still want to try something like this is a rotary powered car thou

You would be surprised how fast the stock trans can take you....

See attached. This is my personal Gear Ratio Speed Calculator. A simple spread sheet formula NOT ACCOUNTING for tire expansion.

*TR = Transmission gear ratio.
*AR = Axle ratio.

Ofcourse this is all desktop tested, not real world tested....yet. ;)

***Edit: PLease mind the obvious mistake. "Tire circumference" should be "tire diameter"...just never changed it.
