spindle mount nightmare

Hi everyone. I got a set of weldracing V series spindle mount (strange). I purchased the brake system from aerospace for the factory Mazda spindle. Well the nightmare starts, first had to make bushings to fit the bearings over the spindle. When I install them the inner bearing goes in good but outer bearing on the air. Well I attached some pictures. The rims are strange, now i don't know if I should have bought the Anglia type rims. Well thanks for reading any I would appreciate any help.

Can't help you , as I don't have any experience with spindle mount wheels ....... But those new wheels look mighty nice!

Bottom line is that the outer bearing MUST sit fully supported to maintain alignment under load.

I helped assemble a set of these a while ago and we made sure both bearings were fully supported.

You could make a threaded insert that will thread onto the spindle that is the same o.d. as the inside of the bearing. It does not have to be but maybe .250" wide. Just enough to keep it from dancing.

Looks hot. What did you have to do to make it work? What is the advantage of spindle mount? Lighter I guess?

They r Lighter and they look could. They also are 15.2 SFI Approved. To install them had to made bushings and also take .300 from the inner bearing and .200 from outer bearings on the rims. Also order the brake kit from aerospace.

Cool... but.. that just looks like a huge waste of money for .002 seconds off your 1/4 time.

Bringing up an old thread...

I been thinking of going spindle mount on my car. but I'm weighing the cost vs. gain. How much weight is lost here in this type of conversion?

More specifically, how much rotating mass is lost? Wheel and tire weight, lug nuts, rotors, ect...?

Arnt these wheels 2" wide and not 3"?
