NZ 20B PP Triple Turbo RX2
Hey guys
I don't post in here very often so I am unsure If you have seen this already or not. Its the CBR (Curren Brothers Racing) Rx2 from New Zealand. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...air/cbr2av.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...njsdkoop_2.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...bswbkkev_2.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...r/DSCF5036.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...hftetzev_2.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...r/DSCF5032.jpg Is said to make between 900-1400hp atw's at 9600rpm. If they can get all the power down on our shitty drag strip then it should go very deep in the 7's this year. They may end up taking it to Australia for their better tracks. Anyway enjoy the pics just thought I'd share this beast with ya'll  |
Sick!!!!

Brent did an awesome job on that car. He even stuck with the el cheapo Master Power turbos
|
Wow!
|
I thought this car had a 13b? Did they recently switch over to the 20b?
|
Yeah it was running a 13B it did a 7.6 @170 or something like that. This new package should be a bit more potential!! Master power turbos FTW haha!

We use to run the 13b with the same turbos which went 7.70 at 174mph and consistant 1.12 60's, we never got the chance to run any real psi through it but Im confident it would of been good for 7.50's maybe even .40's.It only ever saw 32 psi.Car now has a new cs3 lenco.we will probably never be able to use all the power that the 3 rotor will make but I will sure as hell give it a go:)This little baby is our hotrod to not just a race car and Ive always wanted to build this package for a long time.900-1400hp means it can run anywhere from 900 to 1400,depending on track, gears and how big my balls are:)we will probably only ever use 1100max as a low 7 is all we are after. Also I want to see how far we can go with out an adjustable clutch. Thanks for the comments.nothing like a challenge ha:lol:
cheers brent |
Just from their website:
Now that we have had a break from racing as it is the off season we have decided to fit the larger 20b 3 rotor engine. It will be fitted with our billet crank, light rotors, peripheral ports, oil system, hand fabricated intake and exhaust systems, 3 x Master Power turbochargers, 3 x 60mm wastegates, 18 x 1700cc injectors and Microtech engine management. It will produce anywhere between 900 and 1400whp depending on boost level and tune up. All work is designed, built and fitted by CBR, our goal is to run consistant low 7's and still have the reliability that we are known for, we also want to see how far we can go without the use of an adjustable clutch. http://www.curranbrothersracing.co.n...Garage_Updates EDIT: Just beaten! |
Why use masterpower on a setup like that? I'm surprised the masterpower turbos could handle 32psi.
|
I just filled the cup.
|
This is NUTS!!!!!! Triple Turbo, Triple Rotor, and apparently, triple stages fuel injectors, geez!!!
|
Sweet!

Why not use masterpower? I have seen small frame ball bearing garretts shit them selves, large frame to.Aussie billet turbo fell apart along with a gt55 on the same 13b,now back to the masterpower.also with no bov's.I run them in 400hp 13b and 500hp 20b track cars with no issues, never seen one fail still with no bov's.Im also not shy to sit on the 10,000rpm 2 step for a long time either,As long as the wheels are in good shape and clearances are good then there should be no problem:)not sure if I need to say anymore but I have proven them to be reliable:)along with many others.Hopefully one day I can get 32psi through the 3 of them on the 20b,that will be fun:nod:
