Can someone explain how/why these would not be good for drag racing? Also how would a lighter rotor cause you to lose torque?

A heavier object can keep more momentum than a lighter object. When all you're doing is high rpm, the extra weight can help keep the rpm in higher range for a bit longer and therefore keeping it in the power band better. Atleast thats why i personally think its better.

For road racing its different because you can't always stay in the perfect power range but you want to atleast be able to get up to it as quick as possible and that where the lighter internals would help.

Think of it as just a heavy car vs light car having the exact same shape to have the same drag coefficient and also traveling at the exact same speed say about 60mph. The heavier one having more inertia, will stop later than the lighter one.

Just a thought swimming in my head, Let's say you build 4 rotor using your billet Rotors. Since the rotors are not hollow like oem mazda,can you technically run this setup on a stock oil pump and not use the racing oil pump that mazda sells for like $3000:(?

only if you trusted the stock oil pump to feed 4 main bearings and 4 rotor bearings adequately with good clearance.

I wouldn't...

for 3000 you could make your own 5 stage drysump in a cnc machine, with a matching cnc'd oil pan...

or buy a setup for half that price..:nod:

I think it shouldn't be a problem,stock oil pump was good enough for 20b's.
so i don't think an extra rotor is gonna hurt at all.

I mean Think about it,billet rotors are not hollow for cooling like stock one's. which means oil pressure is not wasted on filling in those rotors.:icon_tup:

I'm well aware of the other choices and what not,just using the mazda race oil pump as an example because seems a few racers out there are using them and also jantore with his 4 rotor rx7...

Please let me know if we can use they on a streetable car ,and the draw back from the iron ones , cause , if they are more relible I will buy a pair now.

+1!!! I just want to know if these rotors are more reliable than the original rotors; both in street conditions, and on the track (endurance wise).

In any case, any other updates so far? I'm hungry to know more about the progress! I wish there is a per-second update on this!! Crap!! lol! :nod:
