So track conditions were ideal, cool night negative altitude correction
dialed the boost down to 25psi (just the 1 stage) since it was a import bracket race night first pass went 10.6 with a 1.357 60' spun the tires going into 3rrd then I didn’t change a single thing and went 9.859 @139.49 with a 1.335 60' third pass was first round so i dialed in @ 10.0 went 10.08@ 118 (lol can you tell i got on the brakes?) with a 1.357 60' next pass i got tree'd by some 16 sec stock Honda, and 1.5 60'd (I didn’t get on the 2 step long enough and data log shows i dumped the clutch @ 4psi, not the 10 like the other passes SO although i know i shoulda turned the boost up and just had more fun, but i was having fun. but the secret sauce for the 60' tire MT et Street 26x10.5x16 on a factory rim 8.5 psi cold coming off the trailer (mine dont leak so i set it and forget it like ron popeil) the are @ 9.5-10 psi when i get back after the pass 7,600 2 Step .028 TFC ram sintered disk, with act hd pp shimmed .030 Stock Tranny stock driveshaft stock pumpkin W a kazz and stock MT gears PFS girdle stock green cups DSS axle bars Ubotanium bushings Rotary extreme trailing and toe Tockio's with eibach prokit setting 1 2nd gear burnout @ 6800-7k till their smoking nice and i feel "marbles" under the tires, release line lock.. pin it to 9k till you get movment forward, then stage like normal I think if i sat on the 2 step a bit more i could have cracked the 1.2 barrier..... owell next week ill try again [imghttps://www.rx7club.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=478249&stc=1&d=1350016 554[/img] |

Congrats on the new best! |
Yes. Sick indeed!
|
Congrats, and thanks for the notes (recipe)
|
Great job.
|
OK...what are stock green cups?
|
^ Stock axles, on a FD the stock rear axle cups are green.
|
WOW! that's fast. :icon_tup:
60 ft times are crazy! |
Nice Great Job! If you sat on the 2 step longer would you maybe over power the tires though and spin too much? that is some really low tire psi, i always agreed lower is better than the others that say around 14 psi is best

ive heard the same thing from alot of people, and i use to run 14psi, but she LOVES LOVES loves the 9.5-10psi range, prob has to do with the TFC, and all the rest of my combo.. i forgot to check the markers on the tires to see if their walking, i moved them about 1" so far this season cant wait for next week, time to turn up the boost |

That's when it really shows or maybe that's when they spray makes a difference. I always wondered why his car trapped s well on the back half. What Ari did tell me was he could dial in all the 60 foot they wanted but right in that area was less likely to break parts and yielded the best for his combo. |

Ding Ding! 75 shot on a turbo car may show as a 75hp increase on paper or the dyno but in the real world it could make a 150hp difference. short story, I was running a 9.8 car, mine was a 10.4 car. He launch good, mine was ok. I had a slight mishap shifting in to second. when I shifted in to 3rd gear he was way ahead of me. I started to spay once I was in 3rd gear. I was catching him fast. Ran 117mph in the 1/8. Normally run 112/113. on that pass with out nitrous i thing 110mph would have been my 1/8 mile mph. Everyone one at the starting line thought I was going to win the race but the bad shifter made me miss 4th gear. Really think if I had made and good pass 120mph 1/8 was possible that day. Nitrous is no joke on a turbo car. |

Nitrous is no joke on a turbo car. I have wanted to spray my car for years. Only thing holding me back is I dont like the idea of running it on a PFC. Did you go wet or dry shot? I would feel safer going wet and not trying to tune the INJ. to add fuel . |
Sorry to the OP for changing the subject.
Wet shot. Full throttle switch and a momentary switch on the steering wheel. Run 3deg less timing for 75shot. Thing to remember is what is the hp limit of the back half of the turbo. Small back half equals less power potential because back pressure comes into play. I run a T6 1.32 back half so a 75 shot makes a huge power gain. If one wants to run nitrous on a turbo that is limited to say 600hp, turn the boost down 75 hp and spray a 75 shot. That 75shot will make more power sooner in the power band so your over all average power is greater then just running boost. If that makes sense. When I do make a nitrous test pass the boost response is crazy. The map trace shows it goes straight to max boost no gradual increase to max boost. Still testing things. And I have cracked a few plates because of nitrous. Getting the jets correct for my fuel is crazy. |
awesome 60fts , and congrats on the 9 second pass!!!
Sleeper, in what gear do you hit the nitrous, 3rd? Do many Turbo Rotaries use Nitrous? always thought it was the NA boys that sprayed |
Great Stuff!! Congrats!!
|
Congrats Bacon!! Thanks for the slip and the recipe for the secret sauce.
|
Keep it up bacon.
|
BAD ASS Len!! that's some sick 60 foots on any rear/axle combo, and to do it with green cups and a Kazz is very impressive!. I can't wait to see what she does at 32 psi. Very Impressive man! keep up the good work
|
Congrats and thanks for the inspiration
