Line lock and magnus launch control suggestions?
 

Ok, im undecisive on some changes that I want to do before the season starts. I have an fd its and its at the final stages before I start bracket racing soon. I'm looking to install a line lock and want to go with a nice brand so im leaning towards a "moroso 44050 kit" since it looks to be pretty complete. I do want to keep my ABS on so im going to tap into the line after the MC but before the ABS. Do any of you guys have line lock setups, maybe pictures, or have any experience they would like to share. Or even suggestions im all ears! Before I get my hands dirty.:)

At the moment I dont have 2 step so I was leaning to free revving and launching the car. I do want to install a launch control device to have at LEAST something to keep me consistent for launching.

Last summer when I raced the car it was not my best experience I had a hard time doing burnouts and launches which were not consistently. Sometimes the car would launch alright or bog off the line. So i feel these will help me improve and hopefully fixed these issues with this new setup I have now.

This car is 100% street legal SO installing these parts im looking for stealth but simple setup since she looks stock. I still have a oem steering wheel which i need to figure the best way to place the push button. I was also thinking just to use one switch button for both line lock and launch control device. But just curious if it would effect me in the burn out too?

Change of plans Im not going with the Magnus unit. Instead I'm going to build my own unit with a clutch masters flow control and a line lock integregated. But still going to use the moroso line lock for burnouts.

You should consider using one of these instead of the flow control. It limits fluid flow only in one direction (when releasing the clutch) and they are easily adjustable on the car. Instead of changing pill orifices, you just adjust the dial.

problem with this valve is that it will apply the setting every time the clutch is released.it will wear out the clutch and pressure plate a lot. the other one works only on the launch and incorporates one of these adjustable valves.

Both will be active whenever you release the clutch, that's why you use a line lock. Line locks are normally open, so unless you power it on it allows the clutch fluid a path of least resistance. Turn the LL on and all fluid flows through the valve and meters the clutch release. The CM Flow Control has no way of knowing when you are launching or shifting and will always slip the clutch.

Hmm thats a good idea and a lot cheaper then the clutch master fcv + linelock combo.
Maybe I should pair this up with the line lock would be a fraction of what I was going to pay. It really looks similar to the same one Magnus was using on there unit! Magnus don't even sell there's anymore I tried to buy one a week ago it won't even let me pay. That's when I came to the conclusion just to engineer one up! The Magnus one still needs to be retrofitted to fit the rx7. It would of been more expensive and a waste.

From pictures I've seen, I think they use the same one I linked, but in steel not brass. Brass is more than adequate and a few bucks cheaper. I have a Hurst linelock and that valve on a shelf, but it's long down the line of things to do.
