Help analyzing my 1st 10 second pass

I finally ran in the 10's and I'm very happy,I've been racing it since 2001 and have almost 500 passes on the car. I'm sure there is more left in the car and was looking for some advice. Im pretty sure I did't loose any time on the lauch and think the lost time was shifing gears. I currently have 558 wrp and a stock tranny with an act clutch. I dont the tranny will last long power shifting. Any advice where I could pick up some time based on my driving? Thanks in advance.

I think it looked pretty Damn good! Plus the wheels up for extra bonus! What rpm are you leaving at? Slicks?

Congrats!

Congrats! Looking at the numbers there is room for improvement on the ET, gotta shift really fast. You datalog? Other than that it sounds good.

Thanks! The two step was set at 7600 and the tires are 26x11.5x16 Mickey Thompson ET streets.

No Datalog yet, This is only my 4th pass back since I blew my motor and missed the last year and a half. I guess I just need some more seat time to improve my shifting. What do you think I could get the time down to? Thanks again!!!

60' can come down into the 1.3's every .1 down here easy .2 up top More linear application of power, wheels up awesome for pic but wasted energy in time slip Shifting faster is a must, everyone gonna say it, and your thinking like "I shifted pretty fast" you can do it faster, keep telling your self that and you'll hear it in the videos, and see it in the slip Data log is a must, study the data, learn the secretes

Great pass either way!

Thanks for the advice! I have completely stock suspension so I think I would need different spring/shocks. What setup are you using? Thanks again

sk8world 11-21-14 11:19 AM

Stock springs work just fine. Maybe try a little more rpm on launch to get the tires to slip just a tad. I went several 1.36's on same tires and stock springs

My trap speeds were around 131-133 mph, like yours, and my best time was a 10.39 and 1.39 60 ft with a little over 500 hp and stock rear springs, so you did lose a bunch of time somehow, but that's not bad at all for only 4 passes.

Thanks for all the advice, can't wait for March to head back to the track and try to improve.

Thanks! Next season I'm going to make sure I get a lot more passes in and try to bring my time down.
