It's pretty old....I have always had problems with ACT to tell you the truth.
I think this QM clutch will be the end of my problems.

What's the hp/tq ratings on the QM? And that triple disc one looks bad ass hmmm.

I would love to see updates on this clutch and find out its street manners!

RXTASY57 04-16-12 09:06 AM

These are NASCAR style clutches. I am sure they will hold 800+ RWHP.
Also sure they will be harder to drive on the street, but thats OK.

Trots*88TII-AE* 04-16-12 11:47 AM

Were you able to use all that twin-disk stuff you had picked up prior?

It takes a bit of time to get used to on the street, but it's worth it! I'm glad to see there's finally a flywheel readily available for that package.

No, I sold all that stuff. I'm wondering if I made the right decision on this clutch?
I wonder how the 4.5 LBS flywheel will do for launching and also if the twin disk will grab any better than what I had?

Trots*88TII-AE* 04-16-12 12:30 PM

I can't really comment on the weight thing, cuz I'm not really sure how much my FW weighs, although it seems a bit on the light side based on how it feels during stop & go traffic.

But, as far as grabbing, you made the right choice. These things do not slip, at all. And even if it were thinking of slipping, as the disks heat up, unlike organic compounds the sintered iron starts grabbing harder.

Just found the solution.
Clutchmasters!
Twin disk with steel flywheel-part number 10031TD7S-S-$1800
It's what all the top drag racers use that don't want to share their secrets!
Guess I will start saving $$$ for this.

Wonder how this compares to www.specclutch.com/img/multi-disc-minitwin.png
I spoke with them on running one of these. I was thinking this maybe my next combo..

That one looks like it's aluminum.
If you want it for drag racing, you want the steel flywheel.

Why didn't they tell us about it?
I can't believe how secretive the rotary community is.

RXTASY57 04-17-12 12:39 PM

Actually, this is what most of the Puerto Ricans run.
If they would have told us, I guess we wouldn't understand them anyway?

RXTASY57 04-17-12 12:58 PM

Just found them here even cheaper!

Here is another thing to consider on the SPEC mini twin...

''We should be able to provide it within a week when you order. We provide everything you need to convert from pull to push type.""

That might be good for autox and road racing. I wouldn't use it for
drag racing. Not enough rotational mass.

I will post up my results if I put one in. If I can cut some 1.2's I wont be complaining. Besides I can get one for about half the suggested price.

RXTASY57 04-19-12 02:13 PM

Just ordered the CM Twin Disk with a steel flywheel (10031TD7S).
I will report back on what I find out.

sk8world 04-19-12 06:39 PM

What clutch disk material? Organic or sinterd iron? or do they give you a choice?
