fc with fuel cell in engine bay
 

Hey guys i have a fc that i want to put my 15 ltr fuel cell in the engine bay
just wondering if people who have seen or got a pic or have done it (timemachines) could you please show where it fitted please.

I've seen some of the Honda guys build their own cells to fit into the pocket behind the strut tower, next to the firewall, and next to the fender.

well if your running a cell upfront, that usually means methanol and mechanical pump

then you can get a honda radiator and put the cell side by side to the radiator

YES it does mean methanol and belt driven pump thats what i have gone to.
I have a tank but its a smidgen to big to fit between the cross bar and radiator support bar where radiator goes :(
thats why i wanted to see where people have mounted them and google doesnt bring any (fc's) at all

My new setup is also meth and mech fuel pump but I was leaning toward the cell being in the back. Besides weight distibution and lenght of lines, what are the other advantages to having the cell up front?

Weight bias. I'm building my own fuel cell for my drag car so i can fit it in the exact location I want it to be. Plus hold the exact amount of fuel I need. No need to be dragging extra fuel down the track...

for drag racing fuel cell in the front is a good thing since the g-forces are pushing the fuel towards the rear of the car,not much effort is need to get it to the engine,instead of the pump fighting to push the fuel from the rear forward.as far as where to mount it ? i don't have an fc so i'm not any help.

Now your going to force me to go out and test fit my 5 gal cell in my FC's engine bay...lol.

Maybe we will be the first to share our info on this topic.

thats why i am trying to get my 5 gallon fuel cell in my engine bay.....
But where it will fit i dont know.
I do not have the enigine in the bay at the moment so i can measure it as i dont know how much room i have.
My tank is 12x12x12 but i think i might only be able to fit a 9x9x12 rectangle one in there????
But that is why i want to see some pics of where people have mounted them.

Most of the stock body cars mount them directly next to a smaller (usually civic) radiator. So where your large slightly slanted radiator is now, would be removed. Then A smaller radiator would be installed vertically with no slant and off to one side. Then mount the fuel cell directly next to it. Again, this is just the most common way of doing it. Not the only way to do it.

Tube chassis cars mount them where ever they can fit it. But most often seen in the nose or very most front end of the car.

Is this a strict drag car? what fuel are you running? turbo or na?
