Drag racing battery location issues?

my battery is relocated in the pass rear bin. how many of you have had any issues with needing a switch in the back of the car? i never had an issue in fl, but now ill be going to the nj track and ive heard they are really strict about those kind of things.

Really depends on the track. They will usually ask you if the battery has been relocated to the rear, if you say no, they just move in. I have a few friends that race at Etown/Atco/Island and their battery is in the back but they were never bothered. To be on the safe side if your battery is relocated try to stick with a dry cell.

If you running 10.0 and slower just tell tell the tech people that it came from factory in the rear bin. Just make sure it's bolted down properly.
Anything quicker than 10.0 then you must have the cutoff switch no matter where the battery is located.
At our local track the switch is checked for proper operation every single time you go through tech.

Not anymore. The track is called PBIR now and that particular rule is enforced everytime. Your car would slide if you state what I said above 99% of the times if the question ever came up.
