calculating nitrous
I run a 50-150hp plate system on my BP 12a.
Was curious on who's nitrous chart to believe on what kind to power to expect from various pill combinations. for instance one says N: .047, F: .053 = 100 hp N: .063, F: .071 = 150 hp but that is based on a piston engine. I would like to hear your thoughts. |
Those are some fudged up nitrous pill combos compared to what I am looking at, if fuel pressure is much less than 43psi that makes sense. Not sure on rotary but for a 75 shot single fogger plate style for piston EFI import engines, it's 42N to 22F.

Shows a good list of different cars including FD rx-7. shows that they run a little bit more fuel than piston engines but this looks to be caused by a lower fuel pressure. Really shouldn't be much of a debate as your goal AFR (Air Fuel Ratio) regardless of engine type. I would check your fuel pressure at WOT Mid/high rpm do calculation form your pressure to one on the chart and use that jetting. If your worried about it just put a .001 bigger fuel jet in at that point. |
Sorry rotary should be a little richer in Afr's, sure there is a calculation you could do for target AFR with Nitrous jets.
Nitrous Oxide fuel Jet size and HP Calculator nos n2o How ever doesn't give you an AFR target |
MY sand rail (632# dry weight) has a full bridgported 12a in it by Wankelworks.
Ported racingbeat intake, 700 cfm Holley HP 4-bbl carb. Snowmobile clutch drive, idles at 3800 rpm's, clutch engages at 5500-5800 rpm's. Runs the track at 10,000-10,400 rpm's on the rev limiter. Current tune up: Running C10 race fuel with Amsoil Dominator 2 stroke oil mixed at 10 oz per 5 gallons Have 4 coils mounted firing all at once. Timing is locked at 18 degrees. I turn the power on, retard 4 degrees to start, then retard an additional 4 degrees before running. Fuel pressure is at 6.5 psi. It pulls 12-14" of vaccum at idle (measured at 2400-2600 rpm's), it has a 10.5 power valve in it. Primary side has .068 jets and a .028 squirter, black cam with a 25cc accelerator pump, the secondary side has .076 jets and a .025 squirter, red cam with a 50cc accelerator pump. Nitrous has .052 N / .048 G jets in it. Hitting the nitrous manually after the tach hits 6-7000 rpm's. Idle is still not high enough to launch hard. Working on clutch tuning to raise idle and pull the motor down more. |
