Anyone Get Mickey Thompson Tires That Are Warped Or Out Of Balance?
I just recently purchased Mickey Thompson Et Fronts on my car......... I decided to take it for a spin around town, I noticed a huge vibration.
I brought the car home, jacked up the car and spun the front tires and watched. Just by looking at them, they are way out of balance/warped...... Could this be a mounting problem or did I get Bamboozled? They're brand new. |

Lupe.
Also when you're buying slicks try to purchase them from a supplier that moves a lot of the same products Slicks do have a shelf life but most of the suppliers don't give a shit and it's up to the purchaser to know what he's buying. Also it helps if you measure the circumference of the tire. Many times I've seen slicks out of specs up to one 1 inch. I dont have to tell you what that will do to handling on the track. |
I just spoke with the Mickey Thompson rep, he said that if your cars sits in one spot for 4-5 days, the tire will flat spot. He said for me to run it around the block for 15 minutes "To let the tire heat up and correct itself".
Does this sound right to you? |
ya sounds almost right I but I would think it would take longer then 5 days for this to happen. this will even happen with st radials but it take a long time of sitting and sometimes it can be driven out.

Took it out for a drive today, everything is fine. :)

I also have had issues with the 33x10.5W. I called and was told to max out the pressure (around 40 PSI) and let it sit for a day or two. That always worked for me.

I just drove mine around for 10-15 minutes. The tires got warm and regained their shape pretty fast :)
All is good now. Time to pop some wheelies :) |
