5pt harness to roll bar

Sunday at the Englishtown tech inspecion limited me to 11.5 because my harness could slide on the roll bar. I attached a pic of my currrent setup and then two I found on google. Will the pic with the foam padding be enough to pass tech inspection, or do I need to have the bar welded to my cage? Also they said I needed metal valve stems which I never heard before. I have been racing there since "01" and they never gave me such a hard time as this week. Thanks for the help.

I can't help with the harness, mine is like your current setup and tech has never said anything.

I looked up the valve stem thing in the rule book, and sure enough, its there.

Englishtown techs. are a royal pain in the ass. If you have an import, they will do anything in their power to bust balls. I have had terrible experiences at that track. I prefer Atco or Island

I recommend you ask the inspector what he wants to see. His is the only opinion that matters. You half ass something to try to slide by him and it gives him incentive to look for more things to ding you on.

Thanks Zinx I guess I'll be ordering metal valve stems. Freddyrx3 I agree there always giving me a hard time. C. Ludwig my problem is I'm probably not going back again this season and want to do the right thing over the winter. All he said was something to make them not slide, I guess the welded bar is probably better? Thanks again

for future reference since this is an old post. be advised that although sometimes the tech inspectors can be annoying- they are certainly there for everyones benefit, including yours! if you ever have any questions about what they are telling you i would not hesitate to ask them kindly and directly. the ones by me have been known to be very strict on the rules but will gladly give you enough info for you to properly correct whatever problem they find.
