a 15 second FD in the making lol

Apparently i didnt get the memo that less is more when it comes to 1/4 mile times. Blew my clutch on camera. enjoy

(skip 2/3s of the way in for the FD action. rest is GTR)

just startn 10-06-12 02:15 AM

personally i think you have zero chances against that GTR. Get that clutch fixed and your definitely going to need slicks to be near his tailights lol. Looks like you all had fun, thats what counts. Sucks to hear about the clutch.

I feel you. Went to the track last month, 1st pass I cut a 1.90 sixty foot on street tires shifted to second and clutch was done. Sucks but that's motorsports. Replace it and line them up again.

Slicks+clutch=good race.

Try lauching at around 6,000 to 7,000.

You gotta have some traction for that 4wd car.

I feel like my horsepower is there to cut a 10 second run once I get the power to the ground and get some passes under my belt.

Its pretty obvious he's in the 10 second range if he has launch control enabled but I would love an upset to be the first between brothers.

Knockers I was thinking drag radials and I have a twin disk on the way. Whats my next weakest point of failure? Differential?

Radials are going to break parts. Get bias ply drag tires, et streets or Hoosier on a set of spares for the track. Your stock diff will be the next link but you can cut some decent time on it if you preload the driveline. Pfs dif brace is a given.

What he said^. I believe he is still using all stock drivetrain componets and has a 9 sec car.

If you are going drag racing, full slicks. Brace the diff to keep it from flexing, Solid/semi solid(not stock) engine mounts and a trans brace would be nice as well to keep that shifter in place... Practice man. You should be able to run mid 10's at 130 or so, if you can cut a 1.4-1.5 60ft, which you should with slicks and a little seat time. I'd love to see you smoke your bro's GTR

Are you and your arch nemisis brother ever going to hit a road course?? I bet the FD would feel right at home.

Sk8world how are you pre loading the drive train? Line lock?
