Wow! 7.15s! How do they do it in PR? Any 60ft or 1/8 mile times?

/Lasse

Taken from www.prsportcompact.com

1.1645 = 60 ft
3.0250 = 330 ft
4.5700 = 660 ft
5.9349 = 1000 ft
7.1516 @176.3578 1/4 mile

Apparently, the engine "shut off" around the 1000FT area.

Judge Ito 06-12-07 01:32 PM

low mph.. i heard engine failure before finish line..

crispeed 06-12-07 02:27 PM

Not a very good 60ft due to a bad launch. The car bogged down a little but once it came on it really did. The 330ft time shows how quick the car recovered from a bad 60ft. The 330ft time is more what you would get with a 1.07 to 1.10 60ft.
From there on to the 1000ft mark all times indicated a very quick run or at least quicker than the norm. Would have been nice to see the 1/8 mph though. The low trap speed/mph at the 1/4 could have been from the little bog off the line or he could have lifted or shut it down early. Sometimes a bog of the line results in that because you basically have less track/time to travel down the track once the motor recovers from the bog or it could have been what Ito suggested.
Anyways it was a record setting time from a not to pefect run. We can only imagine if it was a text book run.
Congrats again to the entire Sporty crew!

I've heard a few 1/4 mile run explanations (from different cars), never heard one as informative as yours :icon_tup:

Yes it has.

ultimatejay 06-12-07 09:44 PM

That is tight. What kind of horsepower are these PR 13b's putting out?

R.P.M. 06-12-07 09:56 PM

It looked like he jumped the gun and red lighted?

Sporty's rx-7 made 980RWHP at 43psi.
A couple has gone over the 1000hp mark.

DRAGON_PERFORMANCE 06-13-07 02:32 AM

Any pics, links or specs on the car?

crispeed 06-13-07 05:13 AM

Here's another view/video of Sporty's record run.

Judge Ito 06-13-07 08:16 AM

sounds like it hit the rev limiter a little before the finish line... can't wait to see a full blast with no issues.. sounded sweet..

13B-RX3 06-13-07 09:36 AM

That doesn't sound like your average bridge port ;).

crispeed 06-13-07 11:19 PM

Sporty new mph record

The above video shows the huge bog from the hole. Nice MPH to back up his earlier run though.
Can't wait to see this thing on a perfect run.

gnx7 06-14-07 12:26 AM

980rwhp!!!!! holy sheeit.

That car is flying. I'm sure the superior aerodynamics (vs. 1st gen or RX-3) really help the car out on the big end.

Thanks for the info. I have argued with a few that there are 13b's out there over 1000 hp.

Yeyo_pr 06-14-07 05:20 PM

In Puerto Rico there are at least 7 13b powerd cars running 1,000whp wright now

And we are not counting the ones that are in top secret tunning mode without saying numbers!!

Yeyo_pr 06-14-07 05:21 PM

Hey crispeed!!
Do you know if that hp was made with the old (gasoline and nitrous setup) or the new peripheral alcohol setup!???
