Think my tester is defective

Hi, wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me on my tool. I just got a brand new RCT-V5.2, and went to do my first compression test. Fuel is cut, and ignition is pulled for the engine. On the tool, the on/off button works ~ 1 out of every 6 times. It keeps pushing in and coming all the way back out. When it does stay on, it keeps "thinking" that a test is currently being run, and keeps cycling through, saying random psi readings on each rotor face, but I'm not even cranking the engine. Is something wrong with my tool? I just read to unplug the battery for a while, so that, then left it on for a while and still didn't work. I cranked it with the sensor installed to make sure there was at least some pressure in there and let it sit, but that didn't change anything either. I've also tried with and without the extension cable. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do on this?

contact the vendor..

I did, just waiting for a response back. Posting up in here in case someone else has had the same experience, and might recognize something I might be doing wrong. Plus with it being the weekend, using this forum to double-tap the vendor since this is their section.

He is great at helping out as I thought I had an issue with mine and tested a recently new engine with lower numbers, he checked it out okay and ended up sending a new sensor and recalibrating it.

Steve got in touch with me. Agree Houstonderk, awesome guy to work with. We weren't able to get it going in troubleshooting, but think something weird is going on with the sensor. He's going to send me out a different unit, and I'm going to send him out the one I have so he can figure out what might of happened. The whole power button thing kind of worked itself out too, and is rarely happening too, but he wants to make sure it doesn't crap out on me, so wants me to send the tester as well. Awesome customer service for sure
