Will my engine last w/nos?
I have a 2nd gen RX7, Is adding nos going to ruin my engine? I do not plan to use it too much.
thanks |
NOS is a brand...do you mean you are putting a Nitrous Oxide Systems sticker on your car? Shouldnt ruin your engine...
|
If done properly you should have no problem. Make sure you have enough fuel, and based on the miles of the engine, don't get carried away. Good luck! I plan on entering the Nitrous game someday too.

I have a 90 N/A and I have run as high as a 75 Dry shot with no problems. I burnt my cat pretty bad but thats it. I normally use a 50 shot and its Great!!! My kit is NOS 5123 and i bought a couple of extra jets and the Fighter style toggle switch. tromp on it in second W/ system armed and the car takes off like a cruise misttle. I can post up pics of the setup if your interested. Check your compression first and you should be laughing.

Yeah, yeah I'm Interested.

Go wet, to stay on the safe side. And remember nitrous doens't give you more HP. It's the ability to burn more fuel with it that does. So you WILL need more fuel. I would go with 550 cc secs and ultimately an S-AFC. and yeah you should haul ass,

I haven't forgot to post up the pics. I'm just tryin to get my hands on a Digi cam. I took some W mine and they didn't come out... Will have within a couple of days.

We look forward to the pics. I too am doing a little research before I enter the Nitrious scene.

Although I don't plan on upgrading my secondary Injectors yet, I did get a Walbro Hi-flow (255) Fuel Pump, yet to be Installed. I will also be getting a S-AFC shortly aswell, finally.
With that In mind, I'm sure I'll be covering all the Fuel nessisatites, won't I? Finally, I do plan on going with a wet set up. Is the NOS #05123 just that? I'm doing my research now for my well moded 88 GXL. |
