Twin charged 13b's?
 

Does anyone have any information on twin charging a 13b or any examples? I stumbled accross some cool twin charged cars a while back and loved how resonsive they were. Then today, I got a new issue of Turbo magazine and saw a twin charged 350Z and got really curious.... it sure would cut down lay without the second turbo surprise :)

there are two way's of setting it up, Series and clutched.

The most popular series setup is feeding the intercooled output of the turbo into a positive-displacement charger and then into the engine. The benefits of such a setup is that initial boost level is high, and average change in boost is much lower than running a straight turbo setup at the same psi. Drawbacks are that it'll probably make less power than a straight turbo and te complexities of such a setup.

The clutched method uses a pd supercharger to boost the engine until a set cut-off point, where a clutch disengages the supercharger and engages a big turbo for power to redline. This removes high-end parasitic drag and increases low-end power. Drawbacks are that the complexity of such a setup is exponentially greater than the complexity of a series setup.

I am doing this over this summer on my FD. i have a huge single set up, and only get full boost at around 3400 and thats when i go sideways.... i have to do alot of clutch slipping in order for me not to bog out. this shouldnt be that complex and will give me a nice boost in the low end which i really need. does anyone have any info on how this is done on rotaries? my friend is doing the exact same thing atm on his AE86. im thinking of getting something that will get me around 8psi with a clutch system. dual feed into the Greddy FM, and maybe dual hks ssqv.

has been done on the AE86. I plan on blowing thru my camden some day, not this year though.

i guess sequential is what solved that problem...
