What is TRUST.

noodle 03-01-02 06:30 PM

i THINK its another name for greddy or hks? something like that anyway

Dragon 03-01-02 06:37 PM

It's greaddy, trust is a branch of them that deals with intercoolers etc...

Bitchn7 03-02-02 02:06 AM

Trust is GReddy.
Trust is the main part of the company in Japan.
They are known as Trust in Japan, NZ, Austalia etc. I think they are only marketed in America as GReddy. In their catalogues they list GReddy in there but its only the US that they are marketed as this instead of Trust.

Dragon 03-02-02 06:16 AM

I live in Japan and it is Greaddy on everything... The only thing here they use the trust name on is wastgates and intercoolers, every thing else says Greaddy on it with the exception of there air filters, they are a even diffrent name, can't seem to remember it at the moment but it's somthing like Air-somthing-X...

RedR1 03-03-02 07:02 PM

Dragon, i think that would be Air-NiX :) At least i think so, bc its marketed here stateside as the GReddy/Trust AirNix intake system.

Dragon 03-03-02 11:33 PM

yep that would be it... :D

I bought Soul Assassins old Greedy intercooler.
It has Trust stamped on it.

My new exhaust has a TRUST badge on it along with a bunch of Japanese jibberish that I cant read.

I always thought that Trust was the main company. GReddy, GRex, and GRacer were different branches. I has an old manual boost controller the just said "Trust" on it. Not the little knob type, this one looked like a large metal door knob. It was probably their first boost controller.

My parts catalogues for Trust are labeled,
TRUST Parts cat.....

They have divisions.
GReddy, turbos, I/C's, piping, Electronics etc, Pulley kits gaskets

GREX, Oil coolers, Pistons, cams, brake kits etc

GRacer, spoilers, airinx air filters, harnesses and stickers etc

The Trust, oils.

Their headquarters in Japan has TRUST on it, in the US, it has GReddy.

Basically its another form of strange Japanese was of spending money by labeling the same product with different names, like they do with cars. Stupid I think.

TRUST is the company name.. correct with the subdivisions.. i talked to a rep a long time ago when they were first opening up their company headquarters in irvine ca over 7 years ago.. yikes!!... i dropped by to check out a skyline they brought over for exibitions..

anyways.. he said, there was already a US automotive parts company named trust at that time.. so in order not to infringe on the other companies name and increase confusion.. they went with GREDDY.. the turbo division of TRUST japan..

he also said GREDDY is a combination of Great Eddy.. one of the largest typhoons ever to hit japan.. and GREDDY products are the most powerful components and turbos to buy.. i was like whoa.. and went on my way..

Bitchn7 03-11-02 01:34 AM

Well OBall, that sounds very logical realy.
My Trust supplier here in NZ had the Trust 200SX (the real 240SX that you yankies don't get) demo car here in NZ for a while. it only had 5000km on the clock and fully modded to about 700HP.
he also owns a fully modified Skyline R33GTR with the same body kit as the Trust demo car, leather interior and 750HP. Trust are building him a 1000+HP engine for his GTR drag car he is building soon. Lucky bugger.

Did you knwo that Trust, or GReddy in the US are the US distributors for RE-Amemiya?
