Such Mod as a Front Wheel Drive Conversion?

Rotary Fanatic all the way.... My last FD had to be sold due to low cash...

I currently have a Vdub Jetta '94 that I hate ... was a fast buy .. I want to rip it apart and put a Rotary in it ...

Anyway to put a Rotary in it and get a tranny to make it FWD? Or anyway?

Has this ever been done?

Please dont Flame me ... I hate the VDub

Looking everyday for a good buy in a 2nd Gen at least to get me back to Wankle

If you were to do it I would say go with an earlier 13b 6port with a carb setup. This would make the wiring for the swap much easier. You could probably have custom motor mounts made to make it all fit. Check around on some dune buggy sites, because I have seen some trick ass transmissions, So there may be a front drive tranny that will work out there.
I think that all of this would be a waste though, when you could get a junker t2 and fix it up and have a rear wheel drive monster for a whole lot less money.

Believe me, many VDub owners respect the rotary :P. I've always wanted to take a VW Corrado and make it RWD and rotary powered. :D.
