recomended engine mods

Hey guys! I'm wanting to see what people liked as far as INTERNAL engine mods are concerned.I"m going to a medium single turbo and will be doing my own rebuild since everything is out right now and I like the challenge. So what do you think, dowelling, porting, clearancing the rotors? What's really needed?Any help would be great!

My recommendations:

Med/Large streetport
Xteme Rotary Racing Stud kit: http://www.xtremerotaries.com/main2/stud.htm

Some people (like myself) got the rotors ceramic coated by SwainTech. If money is no option, get the rotors lightened and balanced.

I had my rotors balanced on my last rebuild for around $200. Dont know what kinda difference it made because the motor was streetported and tuned as well. But it ran great and was a lot smoother. After Steve tuned it he said it was fast for the mods I had so maybe it did somthing. I'd do it for what it cost.

I was definately going to do a streetport.Ceramic coating is an option that I like along with lightening the rotors.I want to keep 2mm seals.I'm shooting for @400 whp without going crazy. What about rotor clearancing?I was considering the guru 2 piece eccentric shaft to allow for tighter tolerances( I work alot of overtime!).I guess i'm looking at what do you really need to make it work. I know that plenty of shops will try to sell you their ultimate packages but I believe in spending more on the tuning and I have access to a dyno

Honestly, you don't really have to do anything to the engine. A stock engine with the appropiate turbo, fuel and everything else will be just fine at 400rwhp. Take a look at what ErnieT did on a stock reman:

Thanks, I had a feeling that alot of these mods were unnecessary unless you were going for killer power .Most of the shops in japan that i've spoken to believe more in proper tuning(stationed there for a year)and I tend to lean toward their advice.By the way; thanks for the link for the racing stud kit,I saw your thread on your rebuild and was going to ask were you got those.
