Race Port
Anybody have a race port here and whats the life of a race port
|
where does "race port" come from?
race your stock port car and it's got race ports :p do you mean something specific like a peripheral, j, or bridgeport? |
No R3ouge Has It On His Fd And I'm Thinking About Doing It On My Fc
Or A Agressive Street Port |
the porting may or may not effect the life of an engine drastically. i used a turbo bridgeport as a commuter car :)
|
the porting could, if you port in too much, the oil seals now have nothing to push agains, and the car would be smokin lots, porting out till you reach the sideseal of the rotors, the seals can hit the port and get damaged, beveling and flaring out the port at that point can help prolong the seal's life a bit more, do your mean race port, as in like a monster port where the water seals are but through, or a just a really huge street port
|
If done correctly ,along with how you drive it :the SP wont affect how long the engine lasts.
You can have a 70deg Intake SP,and it wont do a thing. Karis Ps:I had a 8mm BP as a daily driver for a long time. |
^ me too :)
|
Their fun to drive eh?"BP`s are not streetable!"Hogwash!Just rev the bloody thing when pulling away!
karis |
i don't know what the whole lack of low-end is all about... in turbo cars, every bit of low end you lose from the overlap, you regain in turbo spool... my bridgeport felt stronger in the low end than the stock port motor with the same turbo :D
