Question about taking down a trans am..

I know I know, everyone hates these posts but i don't want to walk into a slaughter fest, so ill make it short and sweet.. Im going up against a trans am putting down 385 to the wheels.. his exact words "I'm camed stalled auto" .. and then theres me at 340 to the wheels.. I personally think i will take the cake but other people seem to think it will be really close, what do you guys think?

He'll probably get you from a dig. He probably has a street strip cam which gives him a boatload more torque, probably 400+ if he is putting down that much power really. The stalled auto means he has a stall converter instead of a normal torque converter. This allows him to hold his throttle a little bit before the engagement point and then he stomps it and the converter engages at a good launch RPM, repeatable every time all the time.

Do the smart thing and take away his advantage and race him from a roll, preferably starting from 3rd gear which will allow you to brake boost and forces him to shift right as you start. He pays more for his weight at higher speeds anyways.

If that doesn't work, turn up the boost to 4 bar and do a 100 shot of nitrous and you should be able to take damn near anything with wheels. :D

what do you think his car weighs? Take a look at power to weight ratio as well. He has more hp, but you're lighter.

Don't the TA autos get close to 4k?

Here's an idea. Go race and report back. Then you will have your answer.
