Predator Carb

Has anyone ran a predator carb on a 13b before? If so how does it do? It seems it would be a great fit. This is going on a non ported 6 port 13b in a 1000 lb Austin Healey.

And a second question. Do any of you recomend using the oil injectors? Should I tap them into the intake?

General take on those is that so long as you're premixing OR have an oil drip you'll be fine. IMHO on an engine that is mostly stock, keep the stock pump. For an engine that is modified (or in a custom application like yours) then premix. Its one less system to break or diagnose if theres a problem and one less system to modify/retrofit for a custom job.

I'll be watching this, I've been thinking about the same carb since I got my FB. I've heard some opinions about it and I'd like to hear a few more. If Benton is close enough to Ohio I might be able to swing by and help you set it up sometime too.

I have one right now on my 82 rx7 with a 302 in it, works awsome. I am putting another one on the MFR PP 12a i am building also, I think the predator might be a little over kill for a stoc port engine though, good luck!

What I want to know is how you got your Austin Healey (I assume Sprite?) down to that weight? They are a car I've long had my eye on and I've never seen one weigh that little, cool!

P.S. A Spriget will be my next project, but it will stay piston.

Well I have just bought the carb.

Nevarmore, I am about as far from Ohio as I can be and still be in Ky. Sorry.

Grantmac, the car is 1200 stock with the tractor motor in it. I have removed everything in the car floor boards trunk fuel tank and replaced them with aluminum or plastic. It may go up a little as I am looking at replacing the rear end with a miata setup. If you want to loose more there is a company out of the UK that has aluminum hoods doors and deck lids. This guy did a nice job with a toyota conversion. http://www.home.earthlink.net/~roethler/index.html

He mentions the Suzuki Swift with Samarai tranny, thats the conversion I want to do. I also oddly enough want to use a GSL-SE rear-end and miata front uprights with motorcycle shocks, very cool I'll have to email him.
