Performance mods when replacing engine?

I got this nice 83 RX that needs a new engine and since thats got to happen first what else should I get done at the same time? Porting, clutch or what? I want it to be a screamer but also it may be used a a daily driver.
Any ideas and suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

You can only port the motor while it's apart. So you should do it now. Getting the intake manifold port matched to the motor can help. The clutch will be easier to do with the motor out of the car. A good full Racing Beat exhaust system (header, presilencer, muffler) should make you happy.
