parts for 13b-re

What is the best place to find replacement parts, like gaskets and misc. stuff.?

Also do any of the parts from the 13b-rew interchangable with the 13b-re?

RotaryExperimental 07-18-04 10:37 PM

bump, anyone?

GUITARJUNKIE28 07-21-04 12:58 PM

re-rew comparisons...

the rotora are the same from what i understand, along with the rotor housings, e-shaft, and some other do-dads..

the irons are swappable if you do them in sets--the re's have bigger ports, so if you use one iron, you have to use them all, but they're compatible as a whole.

mazdatrix is about the most convenient place to get stuff like that...maybe racing beat also. the dealer is usually a bit cheaper, but they take forever getting the stuff and usually won't ship

thanks for the info man. Any one got any other sources?

doridori-rx7 07-26-04 07:09 PM

no sources, but a few things I've found from my RE -FC build up - the RWS S5 II rebuild kit fits the ticket( minus the intake gaskets ). use an S4 mechanical OMP, S5 oilpan. you can use the S5 ECU as long as you switch the CAS to a S5 CAS. the Oil cooler lines need to be modified, block off the rear turbo oil return, make an adaptor for the TII tranny so the starter will have someplace to bolt to, FC3S.org has RE-FC engine mounts... bunch of other stuff but that's the bulk of what little I've been able to garner from here and a few other places..

RotaryExperimental 07-26-04 08:02 PM

I dont plan on using a omp at all, i plan on premixing.

What are you talking about with using the s5 oil pan? is it because the re pan has 2 oil returns in it?

I plan on running a e6x so i dont need to worry about the s5 ecu.

RotaryExperimental 07-26-04 09:49 PM

Also does any one know what block off plate to use for the RE? Should i use s5 or 13b-rew?

doridori-rx7 07-27-04 02:46 AM

I use the E6X myself, I use the TII oilpan becuse the RE one does not clear the subframe properly also the TII allows me to refabricate it to hold more oil and to baffle it allot cheaper then going to a dry setup..

I personally avoid premix as the mixture only hits the FACE of the rotor and very little actually makes it to where it's suppose to be and doing the most good, being swept by the apex seal.

as for block off plates, a few from both kits will work but allot of them that sit on the intake manifold will need to be fabricated by someone, I made my own.

Rx_treme 07-27-04 01:01 PM

im using the e6k and im runnin pre mix, and made most all of my own block off plates and gaskets myself.

I did also use the RE oil pan. worked fine with no clearance issues for me.

Doridori, do you have any pics of your modded T2 oil pan??

TonyTurboII 07-27-04 01:30 PM

The -RE oil pan will work fine , assuming your using K2RD or FC3S mounts.

Block off plates can also be bought for the -RE from K2RD.

The pan has nothing to do with the oil returns, the front one is built into the front cover, and the rear one is built into one of the rear housings.

Use the front one, and the rear one can be blocked off with a -REW rear oil drain block off plate.

doridori-rx7 07-27-04 01:52 PM

I am using my own design engine mounts for strength, however it's good to know that somone has parts for the RE...

I
ll see if I can find a pic or two, I may have taken some while I saw fabricating it up

Dude.... call Shane at Rotaryworks in Jax. Met, talked with, hung out with, bought a few things....seems to be a stand-up guy. He had like 3 RE motors there :)
PM me for his phone number if you want it.
