OK,OK ! OK! I need some ANSWERS!

If the Renisis engine is a BETTER engine in base power than the non turbo 13B engine then WHY can't it be turboed or supercharged to 300 or 350+ hp. and, along with it's great 6 speed transmission, be transplanted into an FD3S for a very reliable and less thirsty (and more emissions-friendly) powertrain?????
SURELY this has been on many minds. It has lightweight rotors and a host of other breathing improvements that we all want. Why do we keep putting rebuilt 13B's into our 3rd gen 7's??
Wouldn't a nice Efini ball bearing twin turbo sequential setup or a nice Lhysolm screw-type supercharger be just what Doctor Speed ordered?
An Apex-i computer should be able to handle all the parameters, right?
Is Pettit or someone in LA or Calgary trying to do this? The cost should be not too much more that a regular 13B motor/turbo/ tranny transplant. Say $1,000. or $2,000. more and certainly much less than a 3 rotor upgrade.

theres a whole laundry list of reasons why a renesis is poorly suited to forced induction, or to beinfg swaped into an fc/fd chasis for that mater.

peripherial exhaust rotaries are simply better at pushing turbos, and if you want to make more than 250 (streetable) hp on ANY 13b its gona take some sort of forced induction.

with all the money and complexity tied up in a typical rotary forced induction set-up capable of that kind of power, why waste thousands more on trying to boost an engine that wasnt designed for it?

Who said it had a great 6 speed transmission??? 6 speed yes...great, definatly not.

If power is what you want then a 3rd gen tranny is what you want. I know people that have crushed the rx8 tranny coming out of the hole on a stock rx8 running low 14's.

Wrong already...

No one said it can't be...

Ok, you want to transplant a transmission that's loosely based on a Miata transmission?

Lesse...I haven't seen a 400hp 13B-MSP motor yet.
I've seen 700hp 13B-REW's.
Getting a 400hp 13B-REW is pretty trivial.
The 13B-MSP is a piece of shit?

So why don't you try it and report back to us?

An Apex-i computer should be able to handle all the parameters, right?
NO.
A'PEXi hasn't released a Power FC application for the SE3P yet...that I know of.

Is Pettit or someone in LA or Calgary trying to do this?
Why don't you call Pettit and report back to us?
There's been a LOT of talk from the FC guys to drop a 13B-MSP into an FC.
You know what...it's been just that - ALL TALK.

Boy, you have some pretty twisted ideas on how much things cost.
At the same time you're talking to Pettit, why don't you ask them how much they charge???

Don't even bring up a 20B, cause the 20B is going to outpower ANY 13B-MSP swap you might do...

Answers? Why not start with manners and work from there.

Okay A. we all know the main reason it is just talk, FC owners are cheap bastards. (don't throw a fit I own an FC too)
B. I am, and I imagine you are too, happy that no one has tried it, because it is going to be a waste of money/time/fabrication.

If you are seriously interested in doing a swap to the Renesis why don't you start looking at the numbers that they are actually putting down on Dynometers across the US. You'll find they're significantly less than they should be, although they are supposedly getting better with every new retune or chip. Yes with a stand alone you could tune it up, but how many people have serious experience tuning a Renesis engine? No drop that who has any experience tuning a Renesis. Every engine from the 10A to the 13b-RE to the 20B has it's specific characteristics that people learn. I doubt the REAL tuners out there have enough information and enough experience to properly tune a Renesis to run reliably with a great increase in hp. Look at what's happening in the land down under, Mazda "secretly" developed a Turbo kit for the RX-8. Guess what it already blew the motor. Take this into mind before you start SERIOUSLY considering a Renesis swap.
