I know this has probably been asked numerous time but i dont feel like going back in the thread to look for the answers...How are these seals for street driving? Also is there a price difference between the 2mm and 3mm. Also can OEM springs be used just aswell? Maybe i possible group buy?

Here are some more pics from this past weekends event in Sonoma CA where we made it into the top 16 finals. We have had a pretty bad start to the year, with the first 4 events not competing in due to mechanical problems, mostly with the steering setup. But one thing that has remained consistent is the seals from NRS.
When we first finished the car, we spent 3 days on the dyno trying to figure out different issues, most of which were things related to our intake manifold. Some pin holes and things like that were the first problem. Then after we sorted those out, the car would detonate, and I mean detonate hard. Sounded kinda like an automatic shotgun. I was freaking out, thinking that for sure the motor was done and I had lost a seal with all of that going on. The end result was that 2 of our 4 secondary injectors that were brand new were only pushing out 200cc instead of 1000cc, and they were both on the front rotor! So we corrected that, and the motor was fine! There is no doubt in my mind that we would have lost the engine without these seals in there. Sven has been great to work with, and it is clear that he cares about his product. He has contacted me throughout the season to check on the seals with me, and get updates as to how they are performing and my opinions on them. I have had alot of experience with Ianetti seals, and I have to say, these NRS seals are equally as good if not better in quality and reliability. After another 2 events, we will tear down the engine to check everything, and I will report back with our results. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...n/IMG_0049.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...n/IMG_0062.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...IMG_0060_1.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...n/IMG_0270.jpg |
Thanks Dave, I hope this thread does you the justice you deserve. Total professionalism in every respect :) :)
I look forward to offering continued support of the Speed Machine Performance built Falcon Motorsports RX8 or any other project you may be involved in. Sven P.S. I believe you said that was the worst case of detonation you have ever witnessed? |

QUOTE] I agree as I have detonated my car 3 times due to fuel starvation from the BnR fuel pump. I was sure I had lost the motor, but these seals stood up to the abuse. If I hadn't experienced it myself, I wouldn't have believed what I am typing. Thanks Sven, you have saved me thousands in rebuild costs aleady. These seals have paid for themselves over and over again. It's like actually having your cake and eating it too. John |
sven you may want to join www.bcrotary.com
I'm very interested in your product, I'm running a 13B-PP with 3mm carbon seals and would like to add some nitrous into the mix. My email is sunrunner22@hotmail.com . A friend stopped by last night and i showed him your web site and he too is interested in the product. There i a shop out here called Forcefed Performance that would benifet from these seals as well. www.forcefedracing.ca Do all the seals need to be the same size to do a good group buy or can we have some 2mm seals and some 3mm seals here is a couple shots of what i'm running right now. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...207/NEW087.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...207/NEW088.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...207/NEW093.jpg |

Hat's off to an independant racer who does all his own work. Truely someone who is very passionate in their love of the sport. I have agreed to supply any engine build parts from the factory to him at my cost to further any suport I can offer (local dealership gives me really good prices). |

Colon Motorsports 980 RWHP dyno scan
Here's the scan of the Colon 980 RWHP pull.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ondynoscan.jpg A brief comment on the scan from Gaby: "Hello Sven , this is the dyno graph from last time using 3mm NRS 1 piece seals, as you can see the graph talks by itself. We have run already 4.55 in the 1/8th mile with only 1.14 on the 60 foot. In the 7.15 pass we ran 4.59 in the 1/8 mile with 1.11 in the 60 foot." http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../Coloncar1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../Coloncar2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../Coloncar3.jpg , , |
No hype! Just plain old good results!
A product that never stops paying for itself. The rewards are timeless. |
Did the boost hose come off during the run?
|
We believe it was an issue with the turbo that has now been corrected.
Gaby said the engine continues to improve in power as the seals seat and power was increasing up to the 10,500 rpm they run to so he figures it's definitely making over 1000 RWHP. We are going to get another base graph soon and then run the 2 pc seals in the EXACT same set-up for the most accurate comparison (basically pull the 1 pc and directly drop in the 2 pc). Once I have all the data together I will post the results. |
Thanks Sven. I look forward to it! Is it possible to ask if they are running 2mm or 3mm?
|
3mm 1 pc. Gaby is going to provide compression figures on the 3mm 1 pc along with the upcoming base graph. Then he will do the compression test on the 3mm 2 pc so we will have that for direct comparison of the 2 pc design as well.
|
What time they going to test the car again? :)
