Ngk Afx

Who's used one? Thoughts? How fast is the response? Etc.

NissanConvert 05-01-07 07:36 PM

holy crap an hour and a half and nothing? has anyone *heard* of it?

crispeed 05-01-07 07:43 PM

Probably you should post this in the 'Engine Management' forum.
And yes I have heard of it and used it.
Pretty well package unit with some features for the price. Plus it's compatable with both type of wideband O2 sensors.
As for the response time I can't comment as in it's use as a tuning tool but for just monitoring on a daily driver it's rock solid.

I spose that (Engine Management) could be accurate too.

I'll do a full write-up when i get it for anyone who searches.

My brother in law uses one and I use an LC-1. The response (lag) on his is definetly noticable compared to mine.

I have been using the afx in my street driven, mildly modded FC. IT seems to work just as accurately as my old FJO. I have nothing to judge it's accuracy by, but it seems to be so. I'd say you cant go wrong with it.

I recently had one installed on my tII. It works well but it is slower than other units. Like crispeed said, Its great to have in your car as a monitoring tool to but you might want something a little faster when dyno tuning. For the price i dont think theres anything better. Plx widebands are a good way to go as well. I chose the afx because you can use ntk sensors with it which are much more durable than bosch sensors.

Now that's something I'm 100% in agreement with.

NissanConvert 05-04-07 08:39 AM

Does it ship with an ntk or bosch?

I don't think that it will matter really that it's too slow for dyno testing. If i need to dyno test the car i'll unplug the afx and plug in the shop wideband. Or am i missing something?
