my Frankenstein motor
 

well, after some long waits, the engine is back in the REPU, and man it runs awesome. this is what I have created/

mids 70's 13b rotor housings coated with Cermet B from JHB Performance
83 12a end plates, lapped perfectly flat
GSL-SE e shaft
s4 NA rotors and counterweights milled out for 3mm apex seals
all new main and rotor bearings,
all new mazda side seals and springs, 3mm corner seals, FD corner seal springs,
New Carbon 3mm 1 piece race apex seals and springs
J bridge porting
Dellorto DHLA 48mm carb and Racing Beat intake manifold
Carter 78gph fuel pump, Holley regulator
Jacobs Rotary Pro Pak ignition, FC coils working in a Direct Fire set up
header to 3 inch exhaust, Magnaflow Mufflers
FD Alternator with dual pulley
RP underdrive crank pulley
ACT 4 puck clutch and Bonez 11# flywheel



SO far I have about 200 miles on the new engine, it is running so smooth and pulling sur[prisingly well from 2000rpm up to 4500 where I am shifting for break in. Gas mileage is about as good as can be expected which means it kind of sucks. But oh well its a bridge port!!! I am planning on taking it to the dybno in a couple weeks when it has over 1500 miles on it. Plan to try and get the most out of the Dellorto, although I am a litttle concerned that it will not keep up with the engine and I may have to go with Weber IDA. We shall see.

i will defienetly post some results after it has been dynoed.

I had to redo the motor after the rear plate cracked at the dowel pin under the filter pedestal. No idea why it cracked when it did, wasn't adusing the motor, just driving down the highway, never even took it over 4000 yet. But oh well, after a real expensive tow bill, I have redone it and this time I think I actually improved a few more things. Better apex seals for my application for sure, the 1 piece carbon 3mm will be much safer going over the bridges rather than 2 piece 2mm. I even opened up the eyebrows a little more on the secondaries.

It is hard putting miles on it when all I drive is 10 minutes a day to the shop and back, have to drive to the mountains a few more times. Cant wait to open her up and tune it up on the dyno. see what she can do.
