Uh...

Are you looking for Cat-back, down-pipe back, or just mufflers?

If you just want a "muffler" ie: the big tube thing with a tip at the end of all the pipes, go with whatever you want, I doubt any will really sound good. Just remember, bigger the whole the bigger the noise.

you say thank god you didn'tbuy pacesetter
but you are looking at RX?!?!? and matrix

they are all cheapo ebay special mufflers I would bet they all sound damn near the same and will give the same, if any performance gains.

dont waste your time with cheap shyt like that kid. if you want an exhaust your gona spend some money. if you dont have that money now then save it till you have it. the 2 exhaust systems i find are the best catback sytems are,the apexi single gtspec which comes out of the driver side of the car. this is the one i have and it gives you all power but at a cost cause it does wake the dead so get a silencer with it. or if you want some good power gains and some low end the racing beat exhaust system is great choice, and its not that loud at all. those are the only ones i would ever go with. both of them go for around 600.00 after shipping.

soo ... what if i wanted to do my own custom setup if i buy the n1 single thru the driver side cant i just buy the cannister by itself ??? and take it to a muffler shop and have them fabriacate a pipe ...after the cat 2.25 n/a ???? will it work ??? if it does i wanna get a black carbon fiber exhaust :)

Don't waste your money on a questionable muffler. As a thought you might try a Racing Beat muffler in a single configuration. The turbo muffler, part #16445, is 2.375" ID. It cost $230 but will still be working years from now. A little on the small side for a single but still a great muffler.

P.S. - It also hangs in the factory location with no problem at all.

dude if ur going to get an exhaust for uyour car do it up right the first time. you will just look like one of the poor crappy little street racer car with a fart can back their. i bet their is a lot of people including me who has spent way to much moneytrying to have the muffler shop make an exhaust and when it all came down to it, at the end i just bought the real deal, which is the racing beat road race exhaust from header straight to the muffler and ive never had to worry about an exhaust again.

I have a Borla catback, and I have a nice deep rich sound but it is a little loud, though not ricey at all, and that is because I have a hollowed out cat. Sooo... its whatever you want though. Just try to stick with Racing Beat, Apexi or Borla.

I LOVE my Greddy catback... you can get it from rx7.com. I bought the car with it, so I can't tell a power gain bc this is my first fc. I'll tell you this though.. 3k - 5k rpm = mmm oh so tasty.

For NA, off the shelf I would have to say Racing Beat true duals like someone else recommend. All the science has been done, u just take the box to the shop or put the car up on stands and put it in.

No CAT back exhaust is going to perform as well as a true header/cat swap with exhaust. . Stock manifold and cat is pretty restrictive.

Exhaust shop systems are ok. Just make sure u get them to use stainless or thick wall steel. Typically crushbent mild steel or 'squeeze' bent exhaust makes things worst. Thin exhaust tubing will make your exhaust sound tinny and pingy/2 stroke. My local shop did mine. 3 inch dp to 2.5 inch duals (Stainless) into stainless mufflers with steel wool packing material. Very deep and quiet at idle and cruise, but loud on WOT. My system cost me about 450.00 Local shops are pretty decent if u are clear from the beginning what you want and dont try to nickel and dime them at the end. I Dc/MD/VA area I recommend Kelly Muffler and Welding. You probably have several performance orientated shops in your area. Try the local dragstrip and ask around.

I've got the ebay dual catback that ssauto chrome sells. It's loud and a little ricey, but with a racing beat pre silencer it'll sound really nice. The RB pre silencer is real quiet
