Missing anything?
I'm getting ready to put my engine back together. Is there anything I should get or do before I start?
What I have: 91 13BT Streetported intake and exhaust 80 PSI oil pressure regulator Oil pan baffle Full rebuild-kit from Rotary Aviation The bearings look good, but I was thinking about getting the MFR race bearings (any reason not to?) Regards, Frode |
Get the oil pressure regulator for the 13B-REW which will give around 100+ psi above 4000 rpm. ALso get the 13B-REW oil pump if it is not the same as you have.
More flow and harder gears than some earlier units. Get the rotating parts dynamically balanced for smoother runing and longer life. |
Please tell me that you're going to put new bearings in. They're cheap and easy to do. Don't take any chances. You might as well do it while it's apart anyways.

Yes, I have decided to put new bearings in. I'm thinking of milling the rotors for more clearance too.

You shouldn't need to mill the rotors for more clearance (aka race clearancing). You will be using a streetport and not designing the engine to operate at very high RPM levels over factory, so there shouldn't be a need for it.
