M2 Dual Catback Installed
Yesterday I picked up a M2 Dual exhaust at the RX7 store. Then I dropped off
the car at Beany's Mufflerland. They installed the Catback for $42.30 including tax. Yeah, a catback is easy to do, but this way I didn't have to figure out what to do with the old catback. The stock exhaust had a major hole in the muffler. It was Very loud in the car. I had been deciding between the M2Dual, N1 Dual, and the HKS Hiper Carbon fiber. I "really" wanted a Dual tip, so I gave up on the Hiper. I also wanted something that would last a long time, meaning all SS. I thought the N1 Dual really looked cool, but several people mentioned it droned IN the car. No thanks! I don't mind some noise out the tailpipe, but not IN the car. Plus, it's not all SS. So, that left the M2 Dual. I talked to M2 on the phone. They said it flowed well, but didn't drone, and still had a nice growl with the throttle wide open. I was very anxious to pick up the car up today and hear it for myself. I drove around town 35Mph zone, then went for a quick spin on the highway. I am kind of disappointed in the noise, it's quiet! I wanted more of a Growl when getting on it. On the plus side, it is nice and quiet though, no droning in the car around town or on the highway. Fit and finish of the pipe/muffler looked Very good to me. Someone had mentioned the welds looked bad on the M2, either they just got a bad one, or M2 has changed it since then. |
well maybe when you get a midpipe youll be happy with how it sounds lol

Sam,
If you do decide to go with a midpipe you will be glad you didnt get the N1 Dual. :) Jason www.rx7store.net |
Mine seems to have gotten a little louder with age, but nothing I would call disturbing inside the car. I still love it more than anything else I have heard.

I've never planned on a Mid Pipe, but I do want to get a Hi-Flo Cat at some point.
I figure it won't be long before we have e-Check in Columbus. |
I forgot to post this earlier. Here is a link to a page of my pictures, at the bottom are some pictures of the M2 Dual installed.

Strange! Since getting the PowerFC last summer, the idle has been terrible when the A/C was ON or when I turned the fan mod ON.
Since installing the new M2 catback yesterday, the idle has been steady with the A/C on. |
Sam, I have a bonez hi-flow cat sitting in my basement, used for 3 days before I went midpipe. Let me know when you get ready to shop for the high-flow I'll cut you a good deal...I also have a stock cat with 30k miles on it in good shape which I could sell really cheap...
Good to hear you are keeping the car and didn't run off and buy another Mustang!!! :D K |
