A little different porting question...
I think I have decided to go with the partial bridge port, but I would really like to see some dyno graphs so that I can get an idea about the power curve. I have to race Mustangs and Camaros so good throttle response and midrange power are important.
So, is a partial bridge port good for big mid-range power or is it too "peaky"? Also, I do not mind shifting at 9k so long as there is a pretty large area "under the curve". |
'ello? Crispeed, any luck on that dyno graph for me? Thanks, guys.:)

go to the Lounge and download soul assassin's video. he has a half bridge with a T04 in his FC. he also has an externally vented wastegate so you can tell when he's at max boost. :)

yeah, I watched that. SHWING! But, it doesn't really answer my question though. :(

Is that new as it sounds just like my best mates full Bridge (tick over). And he sure gets some power from it 520rwhp at mid 20's boost thats good. I hope my Partial is that powerful.
I have just been on his site and it just says Bridge port ! so if you see this Alfred please settle this one. Thanks |

Thanks I'm sure he'll pop along any minute to straighten things out. God ported engines are sexy ;-) |
Half-bridge will idle lumpy just like a full bridge will :) Think 'bout it... when idling (or at tickover, depending on what side of the pond you're at) both primary and secondary ports are under vacuum.. this vacuum sucks exhaust gas up during the overlap period and causes it to run rough/lumpy/SWEET :D
I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I did with my last engine... I ported the exhausts the way I thought they should be ported and it turns out I apparently opened them lots more upwards than most people do, resulting in a good amount of overlap - engine would idle like a small bridgey when running through the muffler. I want to quantify what the exact port timing was so I can do it again :) |
I Have a Partail Bridge that i did using Templates etc and that does not run like Souls, My best pal however does have a Full Bridged FD which wont idle under 1500rpm and sound very much like Souls.
I would still like to hear it from soul himself. I am proberly wrong and if so i would love to know why my car sounds nothing like that? |
Since he's probably busy...

Cool, i stand corected.
Do u know what he's set his Idle to? It does sound alot diffrent to mine. My car is'nt as lumpy but maybe that is down to the Idle i have it set to. |
