Ideal Supercharger size?
 
Hey,
I have the opportunity to get my hands on an Eaton supercharger from a GM 3800 series 3.8L V6 engine and I was wondering if this would be a suitable size charger for a GSL-SE 13B? I've searched already but was unable to come up with the answer I was looking for.

I realize this isn't going to be an easy install, but I am more then capable of fabricating the necessary parts and I know what needs to be done to get it to work properly. However, I will need some help in calculating pulley sizes and what boost pressure will result from those sizes... that is if such information is available.

decent size. the gms put out ~240? horse stock, so you should be able to get about the same with a bit smaller pulley on it. won't be a powerhouse, but still reasonably well sized.

i want to supercharge my n/a, does anyone have more nffo?? theres not much on forced induction beyond turbos.
what would be an easy fab supercharger, or is there one made for the 13b??

Ok so upon further investigation, I've found that the GM 3800 SC is an Eaton M62, which supposedly displaces 1.0L of air per revolution from its 62 inches of displacement. The next size is the M90, which is 90 cubic inches and displaces 1.5L per revolution. I assumed that since the M62 is used on a 3.8L V6, it would be able to provide enough air flow for a rotary which displaces roughly the equivalent of 2.6L of air (ignoring VE and all that other fun stuff).

The M90 would obviously be a better choice because it wouldn't have to be worked as hard to produce the same air flow as the M62, but it may be too big and take an excessive amount of power off the engine to drive... I'd rather get the readily available M62, take it apart and clean up the casting, maybe do some porting, and then source and install some ABEC 5 bearings to cope with the higher RPMs it will most likely being experiencing.

Comments? Any input is appreciated!

i have an m90 in my garage. i didn't know the gm blower was smaller than that! thanks for the info.

eh, i'm not doing anything with it. imma get an axial flow anyway.
