Like Zero R posted, the easiest way to make that kind of power is with a larger turbo. Going with a large single can be expensive but if done right will give you good fun power for many miles.

Your car is basically an array of systems that work together to make it opperate. Your engine and power output to the wheels is the most complex. To make the kind of power you are talking about you will need to upgrade:

Engine Management - A complete stand alone ECU and a custom tune (ie. haltech, microtech, etc.)

Fuel system - pump, FPR, injectors and rails

Exhaust - Full 3" (cat is optional depending on location)

Intercooler and piping - can make your own or purchase a "bolt on", expensive name brand

Clutch - You will need more bite to handle that kind of power, the stocker won't do it.

Drivetain - Just make sure your tranny and rearend are up to par. The T2 drivetrain is strong enough to handle the power. Give it a little love with some Redline fluids.

The most important thing is information. Research everything and talk to people who have experience. Lay out a budget and parts list. There are many performance shops that are well known in the rotary community that can give you advice or set you up with a complete kit. Take your time and do it right. Working backwards is a big waste of time and money.

Good luck

i cant say it any better, but actully, i was trying to see if i can make that much power with a small or maybe even stock turbo? bc the way i see it if its a smaller turbo it will prob spooled up a lot faster than a bigger turbo.....thats just what ive heard? what do u guys think

You won't get that much out of a stock turbo. You can make the stock one into a hybrid on the same manifold and hit your goal though. For the life of me the company that sells these escapes me right now. I can even picture their website in my head. They have stage I, II, III, etc... Someone will fill in the name for me.

There are many things that affect spool time from your intake length, to your turbo size, to your exhaust. If you only want 350-400hp, there is no need in going as large as many others do when it comes to your turbo. This is a mistake that too many people make. They like to use a turbo with room to spare and then they never use it. Set a goal and then get a turbo that is most efficient in that range. It doesn't matter if it won't make anymore power above that effieicnetly or not. If you use a turbo that is too large, you are losing efficiency where you intend to run. That's a waste.

A T04B might be just fine for you. It won't give you 500hp but it'll do 350hp and isn't very large. Get a P-trim exhaust wheel and then figure out what A/R housing you want. That's a good place to start but there are many other turbos that would be good too so odn't necessarily think that is the best choice. It's just a suggestion. For a street car that isn't overly powerful, it's a nice little turbo.

Your exhaust manifold will affect spool times to. Don't forget that the exhaust housings can come in divided or undivided as well. Ball bearings as an option will help you spool faster as well. There are many things that affect spool rates not just the size of the compressor wheel. Longer intake runners will also help you spool faster. I've only seen a couple of setups where they weren't oblivious to this fact. That gets into lots of other work though but what you want can be done.

www.bnrsupercars.com unfortunately his site is down now. you can go to www.rx7store.net and i believe they sell them there.

edit: nevermind they don't sell them there anymore. If you do some searching you will find his number in the second gen section.
