High compression turbo motor..
Well I think I have a plan for my new motor, anyone can feel free to jump in with their thoughts at anytime..
Basically I have been trying to find a 89+ 13bt, or a 13b-rew to build into my new turbo motor with no luck. However I have plenty of S4 n/a motor stuff, and a set of 89+13bt sidehousings, so I am thinking of doing a bridge port for my next motor but with set of N/a 9.4:1 rotors and n/a rotor housings, which I have. Now I am far more well versed with v-8 building than rotary however, my thinking is that to cover up the increased duration and subsequent loss of bottom end cranking pressure, an increase in compression ratio would help tremendously as well as improving the thermally efficiency of the motor higher up the in the rpm range, and allow me to run a little less boost for big power, with the resulting increase in compression ratio, I would think I could also spool a larger turbo faster. I have a T04e right now with 60-1 and 1.15 a/r, I may jump up to a T-78 as well with the new motor... Anyone have any thoughts to that? Max |
People have used the S4 N/A Rotors in a boosted engine before succesfully. The S4's have more material (heavier/stronger) than the S5 N/A Rotors.
I believe RICE Racing has mentioned this before. He probably has more advice on this. |

This greatly decreases the safety factor when tuning.

also s4 rotors have more variance in compression from rotor to rotor, cus they wernt CnCed like the s5's
