has anyone ever ported this part of the intake manifold?

has anyone ported the wall right behind the secondary throttle bodies where the manifold splits into the secondary runners. i was wondering if anyone has tapered it just a few degrees to more of a sharper v shape instead of a flat wall. i know it's not gonna do too much in terms of power and i can't grind away too much material, but every lil' bit helps. anyway i got the time and the manifold off so i'd like some suggestions. thanks.

YEH I REMOVED THE BUTTERFLIES AND MADE IT INTO 1 BIG OVAL SHAPE PORT....MORE AIRFLOW

Garfinkle opens that area up and smooths every thing in there including blocked holes and unused vents. You cannot tell that the 2nd set of plates were there.

i don't fully understand not having the the secondary throttle bodies. could someone please explain to me how it would work to not have those. don't they work as normal throttle bodies? what happens when you're off the gas? how is throttle response? what are the major differences in engine operation w/ the the secondary tb's and w/o?

If I understand correctly secondary tb's are only used as part of the "warm up process", AWS. I think that once the car is up to operating temp they are open all the time...

You questions can be answered here, but it looks like the is out of bandwidth for the month. :(

Good stuff there, and I can't stand to see it down, I'm gonna mirror it once it comes back up!

There's two sets of secondary throttle blades. Only one set is activated by the throttle cable. The other side isn't - those make the transition smoother as well as prevent the secondaries from getting air when the engine is cold.

It's only that second set of secondary throttle blades that are removed.

where's the first set of secondary throttle bodies? the only tb's i've seen are where the elbow meets the uim where the triangle of 3 tb's are.
