Fuel Cooler

Anyone using a gas/ fuel cooler like the one sold by SUMMIT (part # FLX- 4136 ) ? , a friend of mine installed it in a turbo six (piston ) and claimed that it made a noticable difference in his cars performance , what ya think ? .

I guess it 's safe to say that nobody has tried this judging from all the views and no replys , so I guess I'll be the guinea pig , will let you all know what I find out .

Ive heard that it does make some difference, but dunno how much because I have yet to do it myself ;)

Well its only $40 , so i'll try it , I suppose it would also be beneficial for the pump since it is cooled by the fuel flowing through it . I have personally felt the temp. of the sump on my gas tank after " skinnin' it back " ( driving HARD ) and found that it was a bit warm ( almost hot ) to the touch .:D

does anyone have a link to where this part can be bought from??
I have seen a little fuel cooler (a bit like a chilly bin, you uanks might not know what I am refering to here) but can't remember where I saw it.
I am going to make a small tanks and run a copper dfuel line threough it and stuff it with ice when at the drags. Should help power

it's old school, from what i've seen. Stuff it with dry ice. can't do it though in stock or Street prepared in solo-2 scca.

when mazda raced in the 12 hour at bathursts a few years ago they refrigerated their fuel prior to putting it into the race car. They claimed it was one of the reasons they kept up with and beat the porsches in the end.

I ran a cheapo aluminum tranny cooler on my bmw and noticed a decent gain in power while at speed. the cooler was placed inline before the fuel rail and was in front of the radiator just behind the kidneys. It got quite warm even though there was more than 4" behind it to the radiator.
