Ebay ceramic apex seals?
 

Been a while since I've posted...mainly cuz I blew my engine a while ago and haven't gotten around to rebuilding it. Was bored and was ebaying. Found this

He says its made for factory mazda natural gas engine use. Has anyone actually heard anything about this? I've been considering ceramic Apex seals this entire time. Its just a little hard to dish out more than two thousand dollars for parts that have no real power gain and only supposed reliability. From what the NRS post is showing though, it seems to be quite impressive and being to rotard that I am, I'm pretty willing to buy a set. But, if these are for real and just as good why bother dishing out more than 2k.

Lets look simply with our eyes and then what they give us for information. First thing I see is a single spring. For an NA application (natural gas generator) this should work but for anything that sees varying fuels, combustion pressures, and a wide rage of egt's I wouldn't expect them to seal fantastic. I wouldn't expect something like this to fail miserably but I wouldn't expect too much of it either.

But the question still remains...

I understand the single spring may be an issue w/higher rpms, but its a ceramic apex seal, which I've read are lighter than metal apex seals and need less pressure to maintain compression @ higher rpms...sooo, just maybe...

Does anyone have ACTUAL experience w/these?
